Subject: Should I buy Halo 2 for the PC

Halo 3

Why?

My reasons are:
- It's Halo 2!
- Map edit!
- Slightly better graphics?
- online again, yay!!

What are yours?

Oh and can it be played on Windows 7?

It can be played on Windows 7. I have two questions though.

1. Is this the first time you've played a PC FPS? If so, it will be extremely hard to get used to the kb/m definitely on Halo 2 seeing as though most people believe it's "broken". If you are then you'd be better off using a wired 360 controller for it

2. Do you know if your computer specifications exceed what's needed for Halo 2? If you don't, you need to find out.

The truth is that there are a good bit of glitches/screw ups in this port. (Not the fun kind that Halo 2 Xbox had with the super jumps. In fact, those are gone) If you can work your way around problems you might find, like, the clipping issue I had (If you have it look up the FPS Limiter. Fixed it for me) it's just as good as Halo 2 on the Xbox. In fact, I like it a bit more.

(P.S. There will be a few people telling you not to get it because it sucks, but, the truth is they hate about 95% of everything)

Halo 3

Nice nice. ok i'm looking forward to it!!

But uh no not at all, Halo 2 is not the first fps i'd be play on the PC. I've played:

- Halo 1 4 pc
- combat arms
- Crysis
- Counter Strike

But it's cool anyways, i have a wired controller and will most likely use that to play it online n' stuff...
and I don't know if my computer specifications exceed what's needed for Halo 2. Can you explain that?

oh and what's kb/m?

Operating System: Vista or Windows 7
Processor: 2 GHz+
Memory: 1 GB Ram/7 GB Hard Drive space
Video Card: nVidia 6100, ATI X700, or above

I play Halo 2 Vista on my pc with Windows 7 and it works very well.
You really should buy it for the multiplayer: it's awesome. And then the graphics are much better than the Xbox version. =)

I completely agree with you. It's the truth. XD

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

You can buy it, but be warned, it sucks in comparision to Halo CE or CS1.6. Save your money and get TF2.

Oh, and it has issues with 7.

Gaming Systems:
Intel Core i7 720QM (4 cores, 8 threads)
4Gb DDR3-1333mhz
1Gb AMD Radeon HD 4650
Windows 7 64bit

Xbox 360 w/ 20Gb HDD (2008 edition) & XBL Gold.

TF2? Ew. Only Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 are any good MP shooters from Valve to me. TF2 feels generic and yawntastic.

I still play Halo 2 PC from time to time.

Gawdamnit I want new a new PC Halo title!!!

Halo 3

I've had Halo combat evolved since.... for a long time ;)

So I guess I will be able to compare. I really wanna give it a shot. Some say no problems with Windows 7, some say there are small things. What might those issues be. . .cuz i'm no computer genius. I suck with comps haha.

But I did hear that the most common game is CTF on coag?

oh and is there co-op campaign by any chance (over the internet)

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

The most common gametype would be Sniper slayer. I rarely go play Coagulation.

Truth is that I just click on the option to view the servers by gametype then I go to the bottom of the list for Slayer. The funnest game I've ever been in was a 4 Team 16 player Sniper CTF game on Foundation.

Most common games are boring Coag Swords CTF, Swords on random map, and pretend MLG BRs on Lockout.

And map editor sux.

How long has it been since you got on h2v? Most common gametype is Snipers. Also, you rarely see MLG players anymore. They've all basically left. Most of the people you meet on there don't even own an Xbox.

I think people who hate H2V have a very good reason to hate it. They should hate it.

Also, I fail to see how people who hate H2V also hate 95% of everything.

It's ultimately up to the OP to decide on whether or not to buy H2V. But I highly recommend not buying it.

I was exaggerating and I meant certain people, not all people who hate h2v. Should have been more clear. I'm sorry

I never really told him whether to get it or not. Just answered his questions and told him my feel for the game.

Oddly enough, active MLG players are exactly what this game needs.

Halo 3

I mean the general vibe in here is 50% both sides. So I mean since I considered it I guess I can add a few percent and make it so that I buy it. But it can't be all that bad; if it really does disappoint me, I can easily return it. O.o

It's just that the annoying part is that i'm 17 and I still can't drive yet. I've failed my driving test two times so far... the state of Maryland has the most insanely difficult road and off-road test >.> So basically I have no set date to get the game, lol. Gotta hitch a ride from one of my friends ._.

No. You can't. It's not a console game.

Does Halo 2 vista have a server searcher like Halo CE for the PC?

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Recommending a game with a high rate of failure is not cool. When it doesn't work, they'll have people like you to thank. Also, try to refrain from passing judgement on everyone here, okay?

Awesome, matchmaking is terribly limited, I'll probably get the vista version since it works with Windows 7.

Almost everyone here passes judgement on everyone here. How am I any different?

Also, I would hardly call that passing judgement. Just stating that there is a lot of hate for the game by a lot of people here that most people don't even know why they hang out here seeing as though they hate Halo in general. It's just gotten to the point where it's annoying me to see people ask for help only to see a barrage of "Halo sucks, go get Steam." instead of actually answering the person's questions.

I don't think the game is bad. I recommend it because I like it. I even admitted that there are many problems with the game. If they end up not liking it then it's not my fault.

Well, TF2 and Halo 2 do have one thing in common.

In some servers, they use a hit detection method that causes the hitboxes to stay behind the target. They're still the same size as the model, generally. It was the same in CS:S.

In Halo 2, the hit detection is set up so that regardless of the network environment, you can miss the shot by a good yard or so and still get a headshot, provided you're moving the reticle.

Halo 3

Crap. It must have been a while since I last bought a game for the PC. Last time I checked (years ago) I was able to return a game. Or then again maybe not. Dammit >.>

It costs 20 bucks, right?
