I don't understand why the general public scowled at the release of Halo 3: ODST. While the initial price was a bit much for Microsoft to have asked, it included a full campaign mode and a sweet new firefight mode. Not to mention all the Halo 3 maps. But most importantly, it gave us what may be the closest thing to a Halo movie we will ever see. It's even starring Nathan Fillion and Tricia Helfer!

Trussingdoor is pretty kewl. He fires lasers and doesn't afraid of anything.

It was expected to have a new Multiplayer mode, separate from H3. Everyone thought it would have that. It didn't, and that's why it was a disappointment.

I don't understand oral at all. I will never do that it is so nasty! And doing things in woods sounds scary.

To be honest, the only other Halo that had a better story was CE.

The only thing I disliked about ODST was it's short campaign and the detective segments. After the 3rd time of wandering through the city, it got boring

*Opinions.

The world is not beautiful: And that, in a way, lends it a sort of beauty.

ODST was meant to be a DLC but because it got turned into retail game people got angry

I really enjoyed ODST.

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

My only concern was that it wasn't really, really hard. It was still pretty hard, but... yeah. The enemies were a little on the easy side sometimes, but oh well. (Although, there was a bit when I was out of grenades and got repetitively mauled by a Brute Chieftain weilding a plasma turret. Gosh... that wasn't fun.)

Other than that, I really liked it. Great game.

I spent days roaming around Mombasa Nights just for the hell of it! Great game!

My jokes, so I don't lose them (ignore this):
ZedFish's Opinion on Sgt. Foley.
ZedFish's Forerunner Rickroll.

The campaign was a good change of pace, but it was kind of shot in the foot by repetitiveness and the silly stamina system, where I don't know much difference in between "Pretty Red" and "Quite Red". A Stamina Bar, while cliché in the Halo series, would work better.

The actual campaign, innovations like silenced weapons (which actually didn't do anything...) and VISR, plus FireFight, were pretty good, and makes me pick the "Ew, Nathan Fillion?" option.
Not a fan of him... I'd also vote "Aw, nasty, Tricia Helfer," but I can only vote once..

I realy enjoyed ODST.

I think that they could have made it a bit better by having the flashback levels longer and maybe giving Romeo and Mickey an extra level as i thought that they seemed a bit left out.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

One of the best Halos, imo.

You know it does nothing. It did nothing in Halo 3-1, you just did not notice it. Go on Halo 3 and rapid fire at a wall and the bullets get more random. Don't try to deny it. I've shot real guns, I should know.

Solid campaign, wandering through the city got old though.

I actually enjoyed ODST more than I did with Halo 3.

It was different and after 9 years of playing Halo in basically the same shape, I wanted something different.
Sure, it had its flaws. It often was turned into a simple shooting gallery due to parts of the levels being too much catered towards Firefight.
But it also did a lot of things right!
- Its story was interesting.
- The contrast between day and night was great
- VISR
- Silenced weapons
- Not feeling as invincible as before (even tho this could have been increased even more!)
- Firefight
- The whole sad, tragic vibe the game had.
- New Mombasa hubworld (although it could have been bigger and more varied)

It was quite coherent too, something Halo 3 definatly lacked.

As for the price and multiplayer:
The game cost 40 euros here, opposed to 60 euros standard for a new game. So we Europeans actually did pay a price suited for an expansion.
As for multiplayer: you get the entire Halo 3 multiplayer for "free" on top of te package...why complain? It wasn't said anywhere that there would be a new multiplayer!
Also: I (and a lot of people with me) didn't buy the H3 DLC and waited for prices to drop or to have the rare free DLC (something H2 DID have!), so getting the complete package for less than I would have paid for all DLC separate wasn't bad at all.

Firefight was a new Multiplayer mode...

i agree, but i did enjoy the ditective segmants, its the repetativeness of the streets level that made it boring for me

I am a practicing traditional Catholic.

ODST was amazing. I think the only reason most people complain about it is because of the price (which I didn't mind paying but can understand why others did). Once you got past that little problem, which wasn't Bungie's decision anyway, the actual game was epic. Campaign had a uniquely atmospheric touch, Firefight was a work of art and the new Halo 3 maps were great for anyone who didn't have Live yet.

The campaign was too short for a $60 game and it didn't have matchmaking for firefight. I think if they had matchmaking for firefight people would have forgiven the campaign being kind of short and everyone would have loved the game. Personally I love the game and still have it unlike everyone else who went and sold it after the Reach beta.

About me: I am a vicious wolf of a man.

But really am sweet at heart. =)

It was alright for the time that was put into it. I enjoyed the campaign more than Reach's though. Which is sad.
