Subject: Tech question for Combat Evolved multiplayer

This is probably a dumb question, but better safe than sorry:

Ok, so my friend has Halo: Combat Evolved and I also want to get it so we can system link with friends and play it.
So I was wondering: If I downloaded Halo off of Xbox Live, would I still be able to system link with him? Or would it not connect properly because they might have different versions or something (what with the conversion for downloading off xbox live and whatnot).
I'm pretty sure it would work fine but I want to make sure I can system link it with people who own the disc version just to be safe because if not, I'll just buy the game disc.

This is the average H2 Fanboy.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

You can still system link. It just runs off an iso.

Ok thanks. I just wanted to make sure before I got it.

It'll work, however you will experience some lag in multiplayer. Not too bad, though. The more people you have playing, the more laggy it will be.

So if I have a disk it won't lag? Or are you just saying that it will lag in multiplayer period?

If you have separate X-Boxes, both with the game, you can system link fine.

In any case, there will be a little bit of lag due to lack of netcode. However, it shouldn't be that bad.
