Haven't you seen Halo Legends? It almost looks like a helmet one of the forerunners were wearing except this version seems to be converted to marine tech.

I have, but there's really no way to link that 100,000 year old helmet to this one. Humans don't even know what Forerunners look like.

No, ARMY TECH. There is only one group of Marines in Reach, on PoA. All of Noble team serve with the UNSC Army. But yeah, it does have some heavy forunner influences in it's design. Hopefully that little gem is somewhere on-disc, too.

The ODSTs are all in the corps.

Have you considered that 343 made it and since they don't consider Reach canon anyway they thought "Hey, let's throw a forerunner helmet in the game, just for laughs." ?

I see it as a Hyabusa situation. It comes from non-cannon, it's clearly a reference to Ninja Gaiden, but they have to mold it in game for it to be cannon.

I feel that this will be the same thing. "Hey look! Forerunner Helmet! But not really it's this thing *wink wink*". So I guess yeah it is a Forerunner based helmet in ascetics, but not in cannon.

They don't have MJOLNIR, though, do they? ODSTs don't count. And anyway, I think the helmet we know from the screenshot about is going to be free with the map pack, as a selling point to potential buyers, like ODST with the beta. Hell, the Reach beta is the only reason I bought ODST.

Really? You're missing a GREAT single player experience, defiantly better than Halo 2 and 3.

I can't really consider anything in Multiplayer cannon considering Spartans aren't killing each other anywhere in cannon, so I say anything goes as far as armor being added.

There might have been a few times when spartan 2's rebelled and the military called in other spartans to try and keep things under control.

Same here. New armor>New maps. Besides, this -blam!- looks so cool, it's worth the $10. Who doesn't have $10? I wipe my ass with $10.

I'll admit, ODST was nice, but it isn't as good as Halo 3's campaign IMO. And there's no way in hell it's as good as H2's campaign. -blam!- was so cash...

To be fair, with $10 you'd be the richest man in one of those s**thole countries like Somalia, or maybe in the amazon.

That happened a few times during training, but by the time augmentation came around, they were dedicated.

Great point. Couldn't agree more. Looking at it, you can certainly see the resemblance... but it's certainly passed through a Reach filter.

It's not the actions that are cannon, but the weapons, armor, and maps.

No. Evil Otto said it wasn't possible. He also said you couldn't add firefight maps. He is not a viable source. Why don't you read a few pages here and see what kind of evidence we have built up before you post.
