you dolts DO realize that the armory is part of UI.MAP

and since a .MAP file cant have things added to it there will be no new armor

put 2 and 2 together children, remember that thread shock120 lovingly made and those experienced halo modders helped with? yeah as you might wanna go look up the armory is a .map file and ass such no new armors can be added without a 4gig+patch

dont go "but these are new masp so the armor will only exist on the new maps"..this is where i'll slap you for your stupidity..the UI.map file is whats incharge of the ARMORY not the MP map...

TL;DR

no new armor because the UI.map file handles the actual armory screen not the MP maps

Ok then, explain the new helmet and chest piece in the screenshots?

wow, taco you are the first person to say this is this thread....
Oh wait I forgot all the other posts.... silly me
wait was it not proven that the hackers could not get every thing from the code?? hmmmm in fact don't worry about it, you obviously read the whole thread

I'm just throwing this in there but, I heard that if the engine had been tweaked a little maps could cross-reference each other on anything new that comes into the game. So if you added armor to just ONE map, all of the other maps can cross-reference it and show it up. So that way you don't have to download for every map, just one. (the next part i didn't hear, it's my opinion) The other maps that the armor didn't originally appear on might be a little glitchy at first, but I'm sure that the game designers can buff that out.

first off no clue if its new or random glitched! will wait for official word however theres plenty of marine/soldier armor variaitions in the game nto to include the red visor jun and jorge wear. now as far as what we can see..........

Helmet = top is the exact same as EOD however it has the attachment of the operator! and on top of that has silver discs off to the side of the head thats not found on any known helmet or attachment!

chest piece = looks like collar breecher but goes all the way around like the elite rangers piece btu still doens t match up with anything known of right now

What he said is nothing to do with the armor being in the images,
it's more to do with how we will never get it.

Remember, this is an advertisement for the Defiant map pack, not some armor you happen to see in the images of the maps.

Close but the stripe in top of the EOD helmet is always black no matter what color combo and this one is clearly red.

And what ACE is saying is that the screenshots are unedited, so how did they get on the screenshots on the maps?

Has anybody considered that in a development build that developers can freely mix and match helmets and attachments to even more combinations, and we are just restricted to what is available now?

It was mentioned before, but ignored quickly by the type who would rather hold their breath and stomp on the ground until everyone agrees with them.

Yes I would like that, but I've never seen a monocle attachment like that, or a stripe on the top of their helmet like that. I am respectfully disagreeing that it is only an attachment.

Image of armor variants we'll never get obviously.

Look again. The Operator has a night vision/infared attachment that can be changed with 2 others that removed the 3 lens attachment. I am sure possibly that the ODST has a strip down the middle that can be changed with the secondary color.

I don't believe that 343, Certain Affinity, or Bungie would be that cruel to show people armor that they cannot unlock. Before anyone says, "blue flames" anyone can unlock that, you just have to get a job at Bungie.

I don't think they intended on showing armor that we'll never get.
Mistakes always happen, and we get people who look too much into it.

Wow, way to fly off the handle. The EOD stripe is always black, I'm not retarded. In fact calling people retards actually makes you retarded. I tried to stay calm and just give my opinion and best answer, and you go off calling me names. Take a deep breath, count to ten and come back when you've calmed down.

New combinations doesn't account for the new "segments" on the helmet

My two cents on the development build argument:
If the picture is from the development build of reach:
1.Do bungie always take screenshots from the development build?
2.If not why the change now?
3.If so why would we only now be seeing a new armory option?
If this "new helmet" exist only in the development build
1. Did it always exist?
2. if it did refer to the first set of questions
3. Did someone take the work hours needed (according the plausible but a little dubious theory on reach's engineering popularized by shock120)to code it into the game?

If anyone one has info to clarify this for me I'll be more than happy to go back to quietly stalking these forums

I think that they have professionals to comb and look through their videos and pictures to make sure no mistakes are made. Didn't you notice on the picture everyone was wearing default except the guy wearing the mystery helmet? They obviously wanted people to find it and look into it.

This thread is losing steam. It was a simple answer all along which didn't require over a thousand posts. Simply put it's a variation of helmets and their attachments that the developers may have in their magical dev kits.

That helmet, while it is similar to EOD and GUNGNIR is very unique. The visor for example is bigger than GUNGNIR and has an entirely different shape than EOD.

There are segments of the helmet that attachments don't figure in for. The top is definitely not EOD, even if you could change the color of the top stripe, on EOD it goes from the edge of the visor to the back of the helmet, on this new helmet the stripe stops before it gets to the visor or the back of the helmet. Plus on the chestpiece there's a ring that goes all the way around the user's neck, it doesn't do that on the collar breacher which is the only armor that resembles that, the collar stops at a half circle in front of the neck, don't hate me please, I'm just stating the facts on this post.
