ok shock, tacoman and skippy how about the fire trails for the new game types?
Simple game scripts being slightly altered.
I like how you guys act like you're the ones doing the scripting.
People like you also said that Alpha Zombie wasn't possible, or that new gametypes could never be created for old maps. Yet the announcer now has the ability to say "Action Sack" with plentiful new gametypes and armor effects in every map that shipped with the game, along with our DLC maps.
The flame trails may be a slightly altered armor effect, but it is an armor effect, nonetheless, that was not written into the original maps from the start.
Your group is slowly being proven wrong, and you're going to get a barrage of spam, flaming you everywhere from the forums to your personal inbox. Seriously, I suggest you guys stop the doubting, because the "I told you so" is coming.
you havent been through the game's coding, for all you know its actually been stored in there....
remember how the announcer says "griffball" even though its a gametpye added LATER
gee bill, makes you wonder what you'd find if you took it upon yourself to actually check the disc
on another note: the flame trail from the OS is also on the juggernaut...this isnt new, its been around since the beta
I think you seriously underestimate the abilities of those doing the updates, and seem to pay little attention to marketing philosophy in many of your (and your group's) theories on Reach's coding limitations.
Please ask yourself how you think flaunting a new helmet would increase sales for the Defiant map pack? Why would a new addition to the armory be shown if it was never to be made available to anyone, whether it be 343, Bungie, or the community.
Common sense, as well as a basic grasp on marketting strategy, contradict your theory in the way such a product was advertised. If such a helmet was never to be released in-game, why flaunt it, front and center, in a promotional screenshot?
P.S: The screen in question was not an IGN exclusive, as Microsoft and 343 released those promotional Defiant Map Pack images via Halo's website and Twitter through Major Nelson.
Edit: Also, don't skip a beat, sir. What's your response to Alpha Zombie's inclusion when people like you thought such an inclusion to be impossible with Reach's playlist coding limitations?
