Been a Bungie fan since the days of Myth TFL.

I truly believe that we're going to get new armor with Defiant. Bungie doesn't release a video with clear visual evidence of something new and scandalous and then come out and say 'oops it was an accident.' I believe this is intentional.

Whatever the case may be, the armor shown in those pics looks very cool!

Absolutely cannnot wait for this map pack to be released, and the truth (whatever it may be) is revealed.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

He's not trying to disprove anything. The new armor shown in the screenshots is either currently in the game but completely hidden, or doesn't exist at all. New armor cannot be downloaded. That's the bottom line.

I am 23 year old gamer that has been playing Halo for six years and going.

Also have been a member of Bungie.net for about 5 years, You will see that I am a Member, in the past I have had problems with past emails, and also
Ranked in TOP 20 players in the World in Halo 3 Campaign: Enemies KIA. Halocharts.com

You my friend I think you have found new armor, their is no helmet the looks like that from the top or the side, their are some that look close from the side but none that look like a full circle.I used this Web Site to help a little bit, but I am going to Halo Reach later for a closer look.

No need for pics, he speaks the truth. I see it on my Armory for 400,000 cR. It's unlocked at Mythic dude chill. You get a camera on the right and EOD style breathers.

But i can tell you want pics, So, here you go

Click on the pic on the right, it has all Gungnir's armor permutations. [/quote]

Gungnir's helm doesn't look like that from above.

It still is impossible, an image doesn't mean anything.
arent you the one said FFmap DLC was impossible? if so well you are wrong about that so you really need stop using that word
While I had an article, I did not have the confirmation.

I have it for armor DLC. :P

Not in a simple patch or update. Each map file in the game has all the content embedded in it. If we were to create new armor, it would either only be available in any new maps that get made after that point, or we would have to send out new map files of all the multiplayer and singleplayer maps and require about 9 GB of HD storage. This is economically not feasible.
Patches and updates do not work.
Replacement of all maps required = New game.
that doesnt say impossible though. it says not simple

No, it's impossible. You can't make everyone download a 7GB patch, because 256MB's the limit for mandatory patches.

However, there is a major difference from "We could, but it's simply not feasible as a simple patch or small DLC." and "We cannot, period."

Saying it is impossible implies the second, which Shock has proof that says the first line.

Hmmm. Just noting something that I haven't seen mentioned yet; in every screenshot, people are only seen wearing Elite Minor armour, or default Mark V [B]. Except for this mystery armour in a pair of screenshots.

Not coding.
The tag system and map format is a result of Bungie's coding.

I remember them saying it was impossible for Halo 3.

So far, you've shown me proof that it is not in Halo Reach. Unfeasible? yes. Impossible? no.

Oh man, this is getting good. First, people said no FF DLC was possible. And here we are, looking at a shiny new FF map. People said no armor DLC was possible. And yet here we are, looking at a helmet and chest plate that matches no other.

Wise words indeed, sir!

You're arguing that it's impossible and discussing semantics with people, but you aren't actually directly answering the question of what the armour is, if it isn't a new helmet and a new chest piece.

Denying that those screenshots exists is idiotic. "No, new armour is impossible in my worldview, those screenshots must be wrong. What screenshots? There are no screenshots don't be stupid. Everyone knows you can't add more armour to Halo". How about doing something useful and working out what armour it is instead of just saying how it can't be a new armour.

Just because you say something is very difficult and implausible, doesn't mean that we're going to disregard any evidence on the contrary. "The Earth is round? Don't be silly, we'd all fall off. I don't care if you have a picture taken from space that shows the curvature of it, it's flat because anything else is ridiculous and implausible."

It's as impossible as me growing wings at this exact moment. Of course, a plane carrying toxic waste could crash through my window right now and I could mutate and grow wings, but it's not very realistic.

It's exactly the same as downloading more armour, except none of the armour would have wings, only Jetpacks.

The same reasons exist, it'll probably exist in Bungie's next IP, if they retained rights to their engine and map format.

We could also say unfeasible for Halo 3 as well, but it doesn't change the fact that, there is no such thing as armor being downloaded.

Doesn't look new to me, but lets just wait and see

  • 02.15.2011 6:52 AM PDT

Been a Bungie fan since the days of Myth TFL.

I feel like we're avoiding the more interesting discussion...

Does anyone here honestly think Bungie would link to a Flickr account with incendiary images without having a motive for doing so? Bungie is clearly after something here...

If a semantic argument of where make-believe armor lives in the real world is how you want to pass the time, thas' cool. But I wager Bungie is playing a game here, and I want to know more.

Bungie could have requested certain armour stay a secret, they've done it before, why wouldn't they do it now?
to whom did they make this request? themselves? they made the game. all the armor on the disc has been found. end of story.

if there is new armor and exclusive to 3 maps, there is no point to it.

they could have requested to the Vanity team the armour be kept a secret
facepalm

I'm not reading through 27 pages to see if someone already posted this, BUT...

And you will see the active playlists. Look at the Noble Map Pack playlist. You see that red spartan with the Operator helmet looking straight at you?

Yeah... that's a helmet not available in game, ever.

There is no new armor.

Different armor was shown in the Noble DLC too, and it wasn't ever released.

Those armour pieces do not correspond to anything currently available... This leads me to believe that it is part of the DLC.

Keep in mind I almost never quit, I just hate the fact there are over 6 different bans in the game, kind of leads me to think Bungie just enjoy punishing there fanbase.
