I've awaiting this movies release for years and it's beyond ridiculous now, last i heard it hasn't even entered production, still if there is ever a movie it would have to be from the perspective of a spartan , not the master chief whose face you can see, i.e fred, kelly, kurt etc. or maybe a squad of odst or johnson, i heard possibly from cortana pov but that sounds a bit rubbish, maybe from the covenants pov or a mix between. thoughts?

It's still just a fan film.

The Master Chief- "Sir, request permission to leave the station."
Lord Hood- "For what purpose, Master Chief?"
The Master Chief- "To give the Covenant back their bomb."
Lord Hood- "Permission granted."

I hope Microsoft gets their heads out of their collective armpits and freaking gets a properly epic/action packed well written/acted Halo Trilogy made, with a Reach Prequel,
that would be awesome.

A lot of us have been waiting since Halo 1 - 10 years.

It seemed all so great, like it was just around the corner, a few years back. Peter Jackson all set to be director, Vin Deisel rumored to be MC himself. It was even advertised on Xbox.com for a short stint.

But then... it all tumbled to the ground. I don't think it'll ever happen now. And I think I'm ok with that... seeing all this in real life would look freaky. I mean have you seen the short live action clips? Yikes.

Respect it!

At last years comic con, I talked to a girl that worked at weta about an update on the halo movie and she told me that they have built all of the props, costumes and sets for it but they are just waiting for someone to make it. So, I know its gonna happen, its just a matter of when.

I am a practicing traditional Catholic.

I seriously hope it isn't made into a film. HollyWood don't have a very prestigious reputation when it comes to Videogames-Films.

dont know if this is true but I hope it isn't

If they could break into the area that comics have now though, such as the most recent batman series, superman series, even the ironman series, it could be a great step for the video game movies. I think that Halo has great potential to break that barrier, and possibly open the door for other games as well.

That doesn't mean it isn't going to be amazing! They have already finished filming the teaser trailer!

Really? That's cool, but like she said there needs to be a director willing to make it.

There's also a Gears of War, Metal Gear, and Bioshock movie officially in production too if you didn't know.

Until they get to the point that they can start filming I wouldn't hold your breath on any of these major game films. Much like Halo the three above mentioned films have been stuck in pre-production for quite a long time and I wouldn't be surprised if they got axe'd at some point.

The problem with Hollywood movies is making a film that appeals to a broad audience regardless of the fan base.

If so this could be great as well. I never played any Gears because it wasn't very appealing, but I played through Metal Gear Solid/Son of Liberty multiple times. These games could be made into great movies because there is soooo much story in the game. This could work out really well with so much material, or could be a disaster because too much could be left out. Lets go with the first one.

Second, Bioshock. Replayed this multiple times because had great game play, plenty of story, and I wanted to know how the ending changes. That being said I'm afraid Bioshock could too easily slip in with the likes of Resident Evil/Silent Hill . The main character (you) has no background or character development(and if you haven't played it, don't think bad about this. It helps the plot in the long run). There could be a movie about Rapture, the city it's based in, but I just don't see Bioshock being a great movie

RED BRICK STUDIOS!

I take IMDb speculation with a grain of salt.

"You dead yet? No? You will be!"

"How you like them pears? Guess what I mean by pears."

"I'm gonna rip off his partridge and kick him in the pear tree!"

The latest known release date is Summer 2012.

The reason it's taking so long is the scripts and the budget.

Won't be surprised if the live-action Robotech movie would release first. hahaha.
