I was wondering how big some ppl are of Halo

Normal- You play the games but you dont buy the special or legendary editions. You play the campain just to see wha tthe story is. You play multiplayer hear n there but its not the game that dominates your xbox

Special- You enjoy the story so much you have all 5 Halo games but none of the legendary editions but a few of the special edtions.. You play multiplayer alot and you always get the DLC but thats where your love ends

Legendary- Not only do have all 5 Halo games You have Halo Wars as well. You also have both legendary editions and all the special editions. You own the guide books, you play multiplayer a ton, most of your xbox dashboard DLC is Halo related

Mythic- Your the Halo fan that is equivalent to a Star Trek fan back in the early 90's. If it has the Halo name on it you own it. Books, lego sets, action figures, All the guide books, every legendary and special edition, your xbox controlers all have some sort of Halo paint scheme and so does your xbox, you know every Halo gme inside and out, you love the game and you love no other

"Find where the liar hides, so that I may place my boot between his gums!" - Rtas 'Vadum

I have all the games (Just limited editions for 2, 3, Wars and Reach, never bothered with the legendary ones.), all of the novels/comics, a few posters and all but 3 of the McFarlane Elite models.

When one does the math of what it would all cost, it is scary. :/

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Mythic, but I'm not wealthy enough to get some of the stuff listed in your description.

"How you like them pears? Guess what I mean by pears."

"I'm gonna rip off his partridge and kick him in the pear tree!"

Halo is my second favorite thing ever made. Bungie being my first. Because Bungie is awesome and they make awesome games like Halo and Marathon and say lame jokes.

CoD is a good game, even if the Halo series are better in some aspects. Anyone who insults either is just bad in that game. Grow up.

Why are you equating fandom to material possessions owned? There's other, more important aspects to it too you know.

I guess legendary by your definitions, but I would argue closer to mythic as I enjoy discussing most aspects of halo here. Material does not a fan make.

I really don't equate being a huge Halo fan to owning all the most expensive versions of the game. I know people who own the most expensive version of each of the games yet they know only the bare bones of the story. According to your logic these people are bigger Halo fans then all the people who read the books and just own the standard editions of the games.

I equate being a big Halo fan to playing through all the campaigns and reading all the books.

I'm in between legendary and mythic. I own all the games and books, legendary and special editions for a few of them, all the comics, some action figures, and my 360 dashboard is Halo, but I don't have an insane amount of other stuff. But owning stuff doesn't make you a fan.

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

I think that most of the people on this forum are pretty big fans of the game.

Oooh, I'm a mix of Special and Mythic.

I don't own all the Halo games, I own the books, I love the story (and know most details), have the Reach and ODST Limited Editions, which includes the ODST controller..

I'd say I average out to Legendary, but not to your definition.

Most people are going to be Mythic or legendary as this is the 'Universe' forum.

Me? Not so much after Reach, legendary, perhaps mythic. I just lost all confidence in Halo after Reach.

Well, I don't collect all the tat, just the games and a couple of the books, but I have written a 340 page fan fiction in the past.

So...

Personally I think you're more of a fan than me for putting the work and dedication into your fan-fic. Mind linking it?

There are several facets to being a fan whether it lies in gaming, consumerism, attention to canon, writing, drawing, building, acting, etc. etc. The bottom line is just a passion for Halo in some regard. The OP's definition only really covers one single facet out of many.

I think that people should post anything they've got to show their love of the franchise regardless of the OP's definition in this thread. It'd be most interesting to see what bnetters could compile here that may not be featured on other community sites like HBO, Hawty McBloggy, Waypoint, etc.

Sure.

I wrote it over the course of 1.5 years though so the beginning is pretty poor, by my current standards. The middle is a lot better though and the ending is pretty good, if I say so myself. I've improved further still since finishing it, though. That's how it goes, I suppose.

Edit: As for fan-collections sparked on Bungie.net, may I be so bold as to direct you to Halo: Revolutions? A compilation of fan fiction, fan art and I think maybe poetry (don't quote my on that though.) I unfortunately wasn't able to contribute to it myself due to being busy, it's an amazing collection despite the lack of my awesome-ness.

;)

Seriously though, it is brilliant and everyone who helped with it should be applauded.

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

I mean I've got all of the legendary/special editions. I have all the Books. A few action figures. The Halo series is one of my top games series.

So yeah I guess if I have to be put into a category I'm Mythic.

By your definition, Special. I don't own either of the legendary editions. But I do own limited editions of ODST, Reach, and Wars. i do have all the DLC including halo wars. As another poster said, there's more to fandom than possesions.
