Well, the mailman came today and brought me my much awaited controller adapter for my xbox pad.
after playing both halo 1and 2 on xbox since the start of time, i thought there would be no difference on using the xbox pad for halo pc, how wrong was i!!!!!!!!!!
the controller i would say is as useless as a chocolate ashtray for playing halo, can anyone tell me why it just does'nt feel right using the controller over mouse and keyboard cos i am completely stumped??

Because you're not used to it. I like the controller better. It's just a different interface. It's more natural for me and easier to aim.

Um you wanna know why you could not use the controller that fast on pc. Because on both halo 1 and 2 for xbox, their is auto aim assist. Halo 2 has massive auto aim assist. Try fighting someone on your team on xbox. Its much harder than fighting an enemy. So on pc, their is no aim assist in the least. Which is why mouse in the end, except for linear movement, totally kicks controller @$$.
Not to mention that mouse has much better interface in my opinion as every single needed button is in contact with a finger. Better reaction time.

I suggest you give it a few weeks with the keyboard and mouse. Once you get used to it you will notice just how much more accurate and how natural it feels using them. I used to be pro controller when I was playing consoles, but was too cheap to buy one for my pc. You won't get used to it over night, so don't get discouraged if your not pwning right away. But once you do, you will understand the need for auto-aim when using a controller.

I recommend getting a gaming mouse that has sensitivity adjustments on the fly. I have the Logitech MX518 and it has up to five dpi settings right on the mouse. I have mine set on three. One for pistols and sniper, one for heavies, and the third for driving vehicles.

Good luck

thanks zennn, i will order the logitech mouse you suggest right away as i am much more adept with the keyboard and mouse compared with the pad.

I have given up with the controller as it just does'nt feel right on the pc, i'll just stick with what i know and that way i wont set myself up for a fall, cheers.

as i have said, i was so used to the controller playing both 1 and 2 on xbox, i thought there would be no difference using it on the pc, however i have found this is just not the case and i will stick with keyboard and mouse as it is much more natural and accurate for playin on the pc, so in summary, any one who thinks they are better off using a pad, DONT, stick with the keyboard and mouse, its just better, period.

You may prefer a controller, but you will never have the aim someone with equal skill with a mouse has.

Its simply not possible. But then if you just cant get used to keyboard + mouse, then you dont really have a choice.

I don't care. I don't play Halo PC competitively.
