Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.
I know there is a guide for video cards, but it hasn't been update for about 3 months and it also doesn't reccomend cards for each type of card.
I am going to make reccomendations here for each type(PCI, AGP, PCIe) and for each price range. Once I find them, I will also add benchmarks.
Feel free to add your reccomendations, and post a better card for the pricerange and type of card if you find one.
Here goes:
PCI:
There is only one good card for PCI out there, so I don't need to post any benchmarks or any price ranges.
PNY Geforce 5500 $89
This card is the only good PCI card that supports DirectX 9, which is what most games these days need to run right.
Specs:[/i]
[b]GPU Geforce FX5500
Core clock 270MHz
Memory Clock 400MHz
Memory Size 128MB
Memory Interface 128-bit
Memory Type DDR
DirectX DirectX 9
OpenGL OpenGL 1.4
Interface PCI
Ports
D-SUB 2

Operating Systems Supported Windows 2000/XP
AGP:
Price: $0-$100
Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 256MB $93.50
This is the best card spec-wise that is under $100. There are Gefore 6 series cards, but they all have specs that are much lower than this card. The added bonus is that it supports Windows 98 and above, unlike a lot of other cards that support only 2000/XP.
I have a similar card(128MB AIW) and it runs any game I throw at it perfectly fine. I can play games such as Half Life 2 and Chaos Theory with no problems, and Halo also runs like a charm.
Specs:
GPU[/b[ Radeon 9600XT
[b]Core clock 500MHz
PixelPipelines 4
Memory Size 256MB
Memory Interface 128-bit
DirectX DirectX 9
OpenGL OpenGL 1.4

Price: $100-$200
MSI Geforce 6600GT 128MB $182($152 w/Mail in rebate
The 6600GT cards are some of the best AGP cards, and some of the best budger PCIe cards.
This one will run any game you throw it at like a charm. Although there are cheaper Geforce 6 series and Radeon X series cards, this one has much better specs than the rest. It also lets you import video into your PC, and you can put your PC display on a TV through HDTV, S-video, or through regular Composite cables.

128MB System RAM (256MB recommended)
One available AGP compliant slot
50MB of available hard disk space for full installation
CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
VGA or DVI-I compatible monitor
Price: $200+
ATI Radeon X800XT All in wonder $299($269 w/Mail in rebate)
This is the best card over $200 that is not outrageouly priced. Similarly to the 6600GT it can run any game you throw at it perfectly, but even better than the 6600GT due to a better memory interface(256 instead of 128), double the pipelines.(16 instead of 8), and double the memory.(256MB instead of 128MB)
It also lets you import video into your PC. The one downside is that it requires a seperate power connection. That means you have to have a free power cable in your PC to hook up to it.
Specs:
GPU Radeon X800XT
Core clock 500MHz
PixelPipelines 16
Memory Clock 1000MHz
Memory Size 256MB
Memory Interface 256-bit
Memory Type GDDR3
DirectX DirectX 9
OpenGL OpenGL 2.0
Interface AGP 4X/8X

Tuner TV Tuner
RAMDAC 400 MHz
Max Resolution 2048x1536@85Hz
Operating Systems Supported Windows 2000/XP
System Requirements ALL-IN-WONDER X800 XT requires connection to your PC’s internal power supply for operation. A 300-watt power supply or greater is recommended to ensure normal system operation. A 350-watt power supply may be required in some fully-loaded PC systems where a number of other internal devices are installed.
Intel Pentium 4/Celeron, AMD Athlon or compatible with AGP 8X (0.8V) or 4X (1.5V) slot
128MB of system memory (256MB or higher recommended)
Installation software requires CD-ROM drive
DVD playback requires DVD drive
Interactive Program guide requires internet connection for listing updates
Remote control receiver requires available USB port
1GHz minimum processor speed required for MPEG-2 video capture
PCI Express
I won't do under $100 for PCI Express since they are all crappy, and you should be able to afford one over $100 if you have a PC with PCI Express.
Price: $100-$200
Powercolor Radeon X1600XT 256MB $179
This is what I consider a "budget" PCIe card. The clock speeds are good, and it should be able to run anything you throw at it. It has 2 DVI ports, and it has tv out for HDTV and S-video.
Specs:
GPU Radeon X1600XT
Core clock 600 MHz
PixelPipelines 12
Memory Clock 1400 MHz
Memory Size 256MB
Memory Interface 128-bit
Memory Type GDDR3
DirectX DirectX 9
OpenGL OpenGL 2.0
Interface PCI Express x16
DVI 2
TV-Out HDTV/S-Video Out
Operating Systems Supported Windows 2000/XP
Price: $200-$400
ATI Radeon X850 Crossfire Edition 256MB $369
This card is going to run anything you throw at it just like the others, but it also supports the ATI crossfire technology which allows you to run two video cards simultaneously to improve performance. It has HDTV out also.
Specs:
GPU Radeon X850 CrossFire Edition
Core clock 520MHz
PixelPipelines 16
Memory Clock 1080MHz
Memory Size 256MB
Memory Interface 256-bit
Memory Type GDDR3

Interface PCI Express x16
DVI 1
TV-Out HDTV Out
Other Ports DMS-59 Port(For CrossFire and one DVI out)
Operating Systems Supported Windows 2000/XP
System Requirements PCI Express based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard and one additional adjacent expansion slot
To complete the CrossFire platform, any PCI Express Radeon X850 graphics card and a CrossFire Ready motherboard are also required
Connection to the system power supply is required.
The power supply should have a specialized graphics card power connector (adapter)
500-Watt power supply or greater recommended
256MB of system memory
Installation software requires CD-ROM
DVD playback requires DVD drive
Price: $400+
This is for hardcore gamers and multimedia editors.
eVGA Geforec 7800GTX 256MB $579
This care is basically the latest technology out there that will run ANYTHING extremely well, be it games, video editing, or anything else of that type. It will run in SLI which is basically the same function as Crossfire by ATI.
This card is for anyone who is serious about gaming and multimedia editing, and who has a lot of money to spend on a PC.
Specs:
GPU Geforce 7800GTX
Core clock 490MHz
PixelPipelines 24

There you go. If you see any errors in spelling or anything, then feel free to tell me and I will change it. I blame any mistakes on spending about an hour typing and researching this, and after a while your brain zones out.
Like I said before, I will add benchmarks as soon as I can find them.
