Subject: Post-War Spartans

I'll remain a soldier until the war is won.

I've had a theory running in my head for a bit about this.
All the Spartans from the war, except a handful of select few, are dead or MIA.
So after a massive cleanup effort would there be a futrue, if any, for the Legacy of Spartans.

I have no doubt almost that there would be more.
But heres the thing, would there perhaps be laws instated that the creation of Spartans is illigal, governments and even the Elites deeming them to be to powerful, to dangorous?
Or would they only be created in a time of desperate need?

There is a vast number of variables and what if scenarios revolving around this subject.
For instance, would humanity slowly become a race of geneticly altered super humans?

But my personal favorit theory is one of the Spartans continueing to exist, and becomeing a kindof almost "Jedi Order". Where they are called upon to help resolve conficts.

Where to start where to start...
What dose the Post-war era hold for the Spartan Program?

There is no need for a law, they are too expensive as it is, only a complete moron would attempt at making one.

I wouldn't be surprised if a Spartan IV project is started based off of major experiences through the war, to combat the remaining Covenant Loyalists, as well as any Flood that return to the galaxy.

There are also still 7 Spartan II's and about 350 Spartan III's ( Gamma Company ) who are still alive.

Hense why i said only a handful left.

As for gamma company those Spartans received deployment orders only a few weeks after the Fall of Reach, and most left Onyx before the Battle of Onyx occurred. It is unknown where they presently are.

Seven? John, Linda, Kelly, and Fred, only four, who are the other three? Oh and Gamma Company was 330, but, with that aside, 3 teams died, so about 300 are alive, not all of them.

That has nothing to do with my statement, I was agreeing with him.

Signatures are for squares.

Blue Team is alive in Oynx
John is floating in space
Gray Team is MIA(which means they survived through Reach)
Black's where abouts are unknown.

thats an interesting moral predicament, what do we do with military equipment after war? the majority of it goes to storage and sits until its needed or replaced, spartans can't be stored like that, they would likely take up high risk security missions, and work at strategic offices, there would undoubtedly be more rebellion if humanity decided to ally with the elites and even colonize with them, so they very well may be implemented in these situations to keep everything flowing smoothly.

idk, but if i were a civilian, i'd be much less inclined to loot a store or derail a train with a 1000 pound spartan looking over my shoulder.

I can see Halsey or what's left of ONI to rebuild the program and use soldiers as their new spartans, exactly like the Spartan I's. but as a "jedi-order," duh, Spartans are Jedi.

Judging that an the end of Halo 3 the UNSC is decimated and the Spartans are scattered and few remain, I think the Spartan program would continue to help the UNSC get back on its feet.

Back.. and to the left.
Back.. and to the left.
Back.. and to the left.
Back.. and to the left.
Back.. and to the left.
Back.. and to the left.
Back.. and to the left.

Well the spartans were originally created for high risk missions dealing with the outer colonies.. So just because the war is over doesnt mean that there will be no more spartan programs.

My jokes, so I don't lose them (ignore this):
ZedFish's Opinion on Sgt. Foley.
ZedFish's Forerunner Rickroll.

Judging by our knack for starting wars amongst eachother, there'd surely be another Insurrection.
Which means, more Spartans.
Which means, Happy Face.

Oh yes. Knowing that there is a Spartan watching id never do anything like that.

And what of the Elites?
Surely they wouldnt be very happy with us haveing such incredibly powerful military assets at our disposel. much like the Nuculear Bomb in todays modern world.

One Single Spartan can change the outcome of any battle and any war, easily.

Well about 60 of Gamma were included in the short story Headhunters. I drew this conclusion based of the time the mission in question took place, most likely in 2552 or a year or two beforehand. This is based off the fact that the Headhunters were field-testing VISR tech before it was to be issued to the rest of the UNSC troops. In 2552, Buck's ODST squad had only just received VISR as a special enhancement, so it still was just past the prototype stages. This means that trhe Headhunter's mission must have taken place around this time.

The story states that a dozen Spartan III fireteams would make an assault once the Headhunters had made a sufficient dent in the Covies encampments. This would be roughly 60 Spartans (5 per team x 12 =60). At this time in the war both Alpha and Beta Companies were non existent and we know that Gamma were deployed before October 2552, meaning they were the only active Spartan III unit with the required numbers. When the mission went tits-up it seems unlikely the main assault force would be sent in see so presumably these Spartans are still alive, at least at this time.

As for the rest of Gamma, I would guess that after Reach fell all remaining assets would be recalled to defend Earth. Since we never hear anything of them 343i have about 300 loose ends to work with for the future, if they so choose.

it would be interesting to follow these loose ends and perhaps make more spartan 3's as they are cheaper and though the war is over when has that ever stopped humanity from making more weapons?
i think more spartans are to come

I think there would have to be more Spartans.
Just to keep the peace and keep the dangers of the universe at bay.
Whatever the Challenge, Spartans will be there when they're called upon.

After the Covenant-UNSC war. I highly predict that majority of the Spartan IIs that came back alive from Earth (or will come back to Earth) would retire or gain high jobs in the military.

As for the Spartan IIIs I believe they would still be used for insurrectionists missions and now maybe even rebelling covenant battles.

For the future I think UNSC still experiment on future Spartans IV to try keep more alive during the enhance stage.

Do you know what kind of hat I'm wearing?

A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.

Prepare to die.
