Ignore my gamertag. It's actually Dragonzzilla.

In the books, it says Sangheili are the physical-equals of Spartan-II's. In the games, not the same view; if you catch my drift.

So what would happen if an Elite punched a Marine according to Canon?

Probably go flying 15 feet away, with their damn long range Judo kicks.

I'm being serious. Have you played Reach? They Judo kick you, if you were a Human without armor that weights more than a ton, you would go flying 15 feet for sure.

in all reality that is what would happen, i don't think he was being to funny or trying to troll, they're very large predatory creatures who train themselves to fight, that is probably exactly what would happen.

a well placed punch in canon would easily kill a marine, breaking his back or neck or severely injuring his internal organs.

Just another reason why a lot of us don't count Halo Wars as a true reflection of the Halo universe. A game where Elites suddenly think that long charges with spears can beat machine guns and shotguns.

  • 02.16.2011 10:04 PM PDT

Yes, Sanghelli warriors are bred to be warriors, like Spartan hoplite warriors of ancient times. They can pick people up with one hand and toss them across the room.
And the reason the Sanghelli in HaloWars ending cutsene attacked with guard spears was because that was their only weapon. And attacking a Spartan II was new to some warriors. The war had been raging for a while but Sanghelli pride themselves on honorable fighting. They could have expected that, until they used SMGs and the shotgun on them.

A crushed ribcage and a snapped spine, resulting in a very dead Marine.

people over on the reach forum can't seem to comprehend that this is what happens when you get walloped on the head by a 9 ft. tall warrior race alien

Well, the punch from Ripa didn't seem to hurt Forge that much.

Well they had the chance to retcon the Elites weight from 318 lbs to something higher that would justify their spartan like strength. Our strongest weight lifters are heavier than that. They are obviously stronger than our strongest, so they must have evolved more efficient muscle fibers. It would not be enough though. Anyway, they did not retcon the weight, rather opting for the armor boosting abilities. Arbiter armor is not as sophisticated as the others, ergo explaining the Arbiters apparent lessened strength.

Just another reason why a lot of us don't count
I do not like the second law of thermodynamics. That however does not make it any less true in the universe.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

The marines face would cave in, with the possibilty of the Elites fist coming out the other side of the skull.

Well, in game, for fun-sake, you can't have every single Elite punch through each of your marines... That would be frustrating.

But, biological wise, yes, they are that strong. And a Marine would probably be royally messed up, for lack of a better term, if punched by an Elite.

You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

Anybody else want to see what happens if the SPARTAN-II augmentations were retrofitted for use with a Sangheili? Also, reactive armor.

They'd be kicking tanks around if it weren't for the fact that tank beats everything.

Ripa seemed to be just playing with Forge. Got outwitted in the end, though.

52,000 kills in Halo 2 and more legendary playthroughs in CE than you can imagine. I am truly a God.

It would break his jaw and possibly fracture his skull. Elite's are big powerful creatures, most people don't really understand how big an Elite would really be.

They would be left behind from they great journey if they fled, and they didn't have any other weapons as they were guards.

I find Brutes to be scarier strength-wise.

Think about it: they evolved large and muscular on a high gravity world. If they go onto planets with half of their home planet's gravity, their strength is essentially doubled.

Home World: Crazy Strong
Other Planets: You are going to be -blam!- in the ass

That doesn't change the fact that Elites would still be incredibly strong.

Brutes, that is all they use is their strength, Elites on the other hand use that along with many other things.

Contrary to popular opinion, Brutes are intellegent.

Sure, they love to use their strength, but it is not a crutch.

I am human, I am good and bad as well. But I try my hardest to stay good. And some of the things I do and say may be bad. Or just not too good, but I do try.

So with that said I don't fault you. I mean your only human, good or bad.
