In the books, it says Sangheili are the physical-equals of Spartan-II's. In the games, not the same view; if you catch my drift.

So what would happen if an Elite punched a Marine according to Canon?

Halo Wars cutscene where Forge gets into a fight with Ripa.

Just another reason why a lot of us don't count Halo Wars as a true reflection of the Halo universe. A game where Elites suddenly think that long charges with spears can beat machine guns and shotguns.

what else are they gonna do? stare from about 40 metres away and think angry thoughts?

WRONG, elites are generally just as if not more intelligent as a spartan 2. that is why grunts go first, now, if the army sent midgets first, the covenant would've lost sooner.
lesson inside this story: when in war, send in the midgets,

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

This would happen

"I'm sorry man, I don't even know why I got in on this side... SHOTGUN!!!"

Watch District 9, the Poleepkwa (Prawns) are a decent equivalent to the Sangheili and in one scene of the movie, a prawn grabs a soldier by the arm and gives him a "Sparta-kick" to the mid torso. It tears off the soldier's arm from the socket and launched him about the distance of a football field.*

*If I remember correctly, the guy goes flying behind a bus. If I'm wrong, and his fall is broken by a wall or something, then he still had the potential of flying several more yards.

might be too late to mention, but Ripa holds back to cause more pain. there was a lot of elites, and most likly that was an example of there pride. they would rather die mid-charge rather than steal a sniper and eliminate the threat

It was also supposed to be a fun, simple story of good vs evil. And we all know that the evil in this kind of story suffer from a common medical ailment often referred to as the Stormtrooper Effect

Win.

i failed like a bieber at posting this, so i removed it.
tho the stormtrooper effect is awesome, i like the law of the conservation of whoopass better, which states ninjas are weaker in large groups

whatever part of the marine hit would be completely crushed and the marine would most likely die
