Planning the cosmos for a healthier future.
I'm a very low ranked player, and I almost NEVER take the sniper rifle unless there is pressure from a central position and I am the only defender and have a chance to balance the pressure momentarily. Otherwise, I respect that this weapon is an asset best reserved for teammates who have the skill to use it. I feel the same about those who take a laser, pod or rocket launcher and leave the base in "slayer" mode when it is an objective game and we're on defense. I kill tons of attackers at the base when I get one of those power weapons, and it is frustrating to watch that asset go shooting from a man-can away from the base as I stay waiting for a three-person hog assault only armed with rifles. The worst is when you do have a weapon you know how to use in the best interest of the team, only to get betrayed and then watch that asset get squandered by an inept teammate (and claimed by the other team). There should be a "beginner's school" that teaches new players how to best contribute to team success rather than kill counts. Don't even get me going on how many times I'm sitting in a hog on Sandtrap Assault and watch EVERY other teammate grab another vehicle or run towards the objective while I'm sitting outside the base, bomb in hand, wondering how the team has any remote chance of success. I don't know if it's inexperience, stupidity, or "slayer" mentality. Thanks for the reminder to just leave the sniper rifle in the hands of those who can "make it so!"
