It drove me nuts in Halo Combat Evolved(co op) when your teamate ran up to enemy lines and you warped to him( while you were busy, looking for ammo or nades) and you died because you had no ammo

There is a reason for that you know. When your buddy went through a loading zone, it warped you to him. It can't have two whole zones loaded at once. Especially in Halo 2, with the huge environments.

God thats -blam!-. Especially on the last checkpoint in the Maw. I mean, when me and my friend race to the longsword fighter and the guy who steps on the checkpoint first the other guy just vanishes from his warthog and ends up on the floor and i have to pick him up.

The guy with the warthog is almost always the guy to hit the checkpoint first, unless your friend is the Flash.

That may be true for one XBOX but imagine if you could have co-op with system link and you didn't get warped. It could open up a lot more strategies to trample on the Covenant with!
1 person hijacking a Banshee and diverting the Covenant's attention while the other person finds a way into the area around the side or through a tunnel. It would really open up a new dimension to the co-op gameplay, rather than it being 2 people playing the same strategies that 1 person would play. This could work especially well on large levels where Bungie intended to allow a choice of route to the player(s).
That would be so cool.
