wats up everyone im trying to get ram for my friend. he has a dell dimension 8100 i need more ram for it and i dont know wat kind it takes it only has 128 and i counted like 88 pins so does anyone know wat kind it takes thanx for info

I think it takes rather expensive Rambus RAM.

according to the dell.co.uk information, the dimension 8100 takes RDRAM up to a capacity of 512mb per slot.

I must warn you, Dell specific ram is extremely expensive.

Yep, Rambus. I actually have an older 8200 that uses rdram as well. Remember when you add memory, the empty slots (if any) need to be filled with those blank modules. Rambus works in a loop, so all dimms must be filled regardless of how much memory you have. Hope that makes sense. (you'll figure it out when you open the pc up)

yeah it was a biatch trying to get the case off but yeah i took the modules out and i tried to start it lol i was like wat the hell lol yeah im just gonna build my friend a comp cause the 8100 is pretty old
