Subject: Spirit of Fire Status as of 2552

How far would the Spirit of Fire have traveled in all that time since the battle of the Apex? It would have been around 21 years, certainly they would have reached an Outer Colony by then right?

Would you like to encounter it in the Possible Halo 4? Red Team FTW

i think it would've reached an outer colony, but the cap (i forget his name) would've died by then.

Wouldn't they still be alive if they were in those pods?

Yeah they would still be alive if they were in pods.
But I was never sure if Halo Wars was canon or not since it was made by 343.
Is it canon?

Yup, it is canon.

Wasn't made by 343.

not to split hairs, but the guy didn't seem like the type to turn over command of his ship.

Once repairs were done to the best ability, they would probably all go into cryo...

Anyway, by the time of the Battle of Reach, the Spirit of Fire was still MIA.

Concidering the location of the Apex site was unknown, as was their heading once they left, they could be anywhere and take anytime to get there.

i vote crashed, or hijacked by covenant and the crew killed, or a grunt set off a fusion coil next to the engine and killed everyone

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

They had no idea where they were, who knows, they probably went in the wrong direction.

  • 02.20.2011 2:52 PM PDT

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

For all they know they weren't even headed in the right direction. Without the translight engine they would never get back to human controlled space.

Think about it, it took them a few weeks to travel from Arcadia to the Apex when going faster than light. Weeks going faster than light. 21 years is nowhere near enough to get halfway back where they started, assuming they were even "drifting" in the right direction.

Spirit of Fire was declared lost with all hands in 2534 so i think UNSC would have given up all hope of ever finding them and as for reaching an outter colony possible but they could of went back to a glassed planet abandoned by the UNSC and have no way of contacting anyone or knowing if the covenant had won the war or the humans

  • 02.20.2011 3:16 PM PDT

it would also be funny if they did got back and told the UNSC "hey you'll never guess what we found while we were gone. A new species that takes over sentient beings."
"you mean the flood we already know about them"
"well thats all we found out, so thanks for ruining our story -blam!-"

The SoF could have reached an outer colony by 2552, but weren't most outer colonies glassed by The Covenant by 2552?

I suspect there will be a Halo Wars 2 due to the cliffhanger ending.

OR, as a popular theory says, the SoF made it back to UNSC controlled space and was taken by ONI as a top secret for it's involvement with Flood and Forerunner.

Theory doesn't make sense honestly.

I mean, from memory of reading the trilogy books a while back, ONI was seeing the Flood for the first time ever.

True, but I doubt even ONI would be stupid enough to keep something as threatening as The Flood a total secret.

I think if the SoF ever did get back to UNSC controlled space it was after the events of Halo CE. If I remember correctly there was at least 1 person who had something to do with ONI aboard the PoA, and so The Flood wouldn't have been such a surprise to him.

I know what you mean, but obviously, the SoF would have reached UNSC space by around 2050 or even later after the war had finished. ONI wouldint let the personel back into the regular populace with what they have seen and experienced. ONI must have put them through the interogation of their lives.

Not drifting, they were in control of where they went. They didnt have a slipspace drive, but they still had engines for when they weren't in slipspace, and Serina could still control where they were going.

That's why all this depends on the date if it ever made it back. Anyways, the ONI officer would have to be of considerable rank to have knowledge of the Flood. And about keeping the Flood as a secret, what about the Forerunners? ONI had knowledge of ruins and their existance way before 2052, and that was held completly a secret. I'm pretty sure they would keep something as dangerous (well, also remember that the Flood threat has been neutralized on the Ark, really leaving no reason to inform the public of something that wont bother them for a good ammount of years) as the Flood under raps as long as they could. ONI works that way.
