By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Wonderful, you just conceded that Halo 2 is better than Halo 3. Bravo.

Corrected my comment.

No, no. I'm happy to accept your initial responce as a formal apology for this whole atrocity; I tip my hat to you, good sir.

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Wow, well like they say, you can't spell "ignorant" without IGN.
The abrupt twist didn't sit well with all fans,Of course not everyone's going to like it, but most people over the years said that's why Halo 2's was the best. It added a whole new perspective to everything, and we got some of the best and most in-depth characters we've ever had in the Halo series (Truth, Arbiter, Half-Jaw, etc.). Let me guess, I bet they didn't understand Halo 2's story? Probably cause they're -blam!- retarded.
but the real sore point is that Halo 2 ends with an Arbiter missionOh boo -blam!- hoo. Honestly, that's the reason Halo 2 is the worst, because you didn't play as the Master Chief on the last mission!? That right there tells you the team are made up of idiots.

And then they go on to say Halo Reach is the best?! Ha! It's clear that they don't know anything about story, character development, or gameplay. Reach the most balanced?! Not a single bad or annoying level? Bittersweet moments?! lol, wow.

Halo 3 was the best. The most epic.

Whoever wrote that article was butthurt because they couldn't beat Cortana on Legendary. " but suffers from one of the worst levels in the Halo history, when you must navigate a flood infestation to save Cortana. If not for that level, Halo 3 might just be first-person shooter perfection." That was copy/pasted from article. LOL!!

Brilliant though it annoyed me when they downsized the Elites.

Life is death. Death is life. Such pointless arguments of the obvious are meaningless to me.

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

Halo 2 had the best campaign, hands down. Exploration, out of bounds areas + great scale backgrounds (dreadnought, library, etc) made for one amazing campaign. Plus H2 had the best soundtrack of all 5 games.

... but I thought we'd established that Halo 2 was a pipe shooter, worst of the lot in that regard.

I do wonder how many people were around for the H2-H3 intergame period. I do wonder how many people still remember some of the arguements on both forums.

I thought it was the worst because that was the only Halo I followed the pre-release info for.

i over-hyped it for myself.

Wit H3, ODST, and Reach I just ignored all the trailers and news and enjoyed each and every one.

That one guy!

Every game had it's good aspects. If you compare them together it's kinda like judging which mutated specimen is better.

No new games, catching up with the world, and filling it with the name of SpazDragon, the dragon with a spas-12.

It was the funnest and best, yet definitely the hardest. Even in Normal it felt like overkill.

I loved the whole role as playing the Arbiter, because you got to view the Covenant's side of the war. I liked the longer missions the most that required a large playing area, like Delta Halo or Quarantine Zone.

Good bye Bungie. Thanks for the best game alive! Hope your other games are like Halo.

Halo 2 campaign was the best

BI-MU ka-blam!-aku
FURASSHUBAKKU ni yatsu no kage
CHAR CHAR CHAR CHAR CHAR CHAR

The campaign's plot was very deep and layered, but with Microsoft pushing Bungie's progress on a set due date to the point of being: "on fire, going 130 miles per hour through a hospital zone, being chased by helicopters and ninjas. And, the ninjas are all on fire, too."
Yeah. Not enough time to fully realize the projected grandeur. And thus we had a story that could've been, but still was okay and enjoyable. It teetered on the precipice of COD-like clicheness, though.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

You know what screw it there's no convincing this fool. It's like trying to train a cat to bark.

I love every Halo game's campaign to be honest. But I'd have to agree with the majority of the people on this forum and say my favorite campaign was Halo 2. The story of Halo 2 had this vast epicness and hugeness to it that it made me want to know more. The wonder that I felt throughout every mission just fueled my thirst for more. The cliffhanger was, of course, -blam!- INFURIATING. But, the rest of the game more than makes up for it.

I've probably spent more time in Halo 2's campaign than every other campaign combined. Me and my best friend would have sleepovers every weekend and just play through the campaign on co-op every time. This was before we got Live.

Tiebreaker (if there needs to be one): Master Chief had SO MANY more amazing quotes in Halo 2 than in 3.

"I need a weapon."

My opinion is Cairo Station, Outskirts & Delta Halo are the best Halo 2 had to offer for single player campaign.

I probably replayed those more than any Halo 3 or Reach missions so I'd have to say Halo 2 SP is one of the best.

Legendary Jackal snipers however we're not so much fun.

RIP Halo 2

I think Halo 2's campaign was second only to Halo CE's. There was so much stuff you could do in it. I don't care what people say about it, it was so much more fun that Halo 3's and Reach's.

Halo 3 and Reach really don't compare in any way to the first two.
