Subject: Who's your favorite character in the Halo Universe?

"I wanted to make people happy, if only for an hour."

Obviously the Master Chief.

Lord Hood - Because he can order people to clean his room for him.

Tartarus - Cause he had a mohawk...and mohawks are cool (If done right)

Miranda - Cause she has more balls than all of Noble Team combined. Miranada charges headfirst into the Prophet of Truth and Brutes while Noble Team is outdone by jackals, black holes, and one-on-one engagements.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

More balls? How about less intelligence? She flew into the Citadel by herself thinking she could safely exfiltrate Johnson, then got shot in the back by a frail old Prophet who could barely hold the weapon.

Er... at what point was any Noble Team member killed by a Jackal?

Kat...at end of that stupid Falcon mission

But as far as Miranda is concerned - given the circumstance, where time was a factor...and the fate of the Galaxy is at stake, her diversion, possibly, bought Chief precious time. She made a command decision, and willing sacrificed herself to buy a few more seconds to try and save the galaxy. That was an intelligent decision...it was the right decision.

Now Carter, needlessly crashing his Pelican when he just could have flown both Six and Emile to the PoA...THAT was stupid.

So yes, Miranda is also smarter.

Iema 'Kai Zykuree, Supreme Commander of the Sovereign Guard, an all Elite clan. If you would like to set up a clan match or join our ranks, feel free to contact me.

"Peace through Tyranny!"
-N.B.E.1. aka Megatron

The Arbiter/ Thel 'Vadam, because he's got one hell of a history and is just that noble badass.

Then the Gravemind. Because... Manipulation and backstabbing for the win.

It was an Elite Field Marshall who shot her.

Miranda might be smarter because she's Halsey's daughter :)

But really couldn't Miranda just hover in front of truth and kill him with 70 mm cannon unless ammo is dry.

I guess on my TV it was dark...I always assumed it was a jackal that shot her cause I couldnt see who shot her, and the fact it was a needle rifle (something which jackals use a lot)...still...she died a pretty pointless death.

Miranda's Pelican had no chingun on it.

The Master Chief!

Chief, not for some fanboy reason either.
As a six year old he forges 60 others into an effective team to accomplish an objective, I tried to organise 5 so-called "adults" and it failed. Muchas Points for Chief

John. It's probably considered generic against the likes of Kurt or Sgt. Johnson, but I truly consider him my favourite character in the Halo universe. John isn't the smartest, or the toughest, but he has great valor and sacrifice - a true Spartan.

Their drop pods must be cramped because of their enormous balls required to drop to a planet...FROM -blam!- ORBIT.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

I like too many of the characters to have a favorite. Master Chief is the hero. Mendicant Bias is very...interesting. The Arbiter is a bad guy, who still was likable, and finally turned good. The Gravemind is a lot more interesting once you read Cryptum. And so on...

Can't choose a favorite.

ODSTs weren't the only soldiers trained to do that. SSgt Johnson was as well as a number of others. Including the Spartans.

Cortana, AI goddess of the Halo universe. Honestly, I feel like she was the one that saved the galaxy, Master Chief just shot his guns and got her from place to place

  • 02.22.2011 10:17 AM PDT

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

If you're talking about AIs on boarderline godhood and saving the galaxy, look no further than Mendicant Bias - the master manipulator behind the events of the series spanning 130,000 years.
