Subject: Bungie ignored this game so much...

Seriosuly, this game was so under everything. Underdeveolped, no matchmaking for a firefight better than reach's, not even a player search, compeltely ignored after reach came out, no DLC ever or further support. If Reach was like this game it could have been much better. I think alot of people like ODST better. I feel like they turned this game into nothing more than a map pack and a beta test of firefight, just a short prelude of awesome before reach. Plus you beta tested reach for having this. Is that all it was to you bungie? ODST could have been a gem, but was just underdone. The fact that it included Halo 3 in its name reduced it to addon status.

Seriously, look at this forum. Theres no activity cause theres nothing to talk about. Half the threads are begging for firefight games.

The fact that this thread has yet to have a reply only strengthens my point.

i believe the game came with the halo 3 online, a full halo 3 odst campaign, and the beta. It is better than you lead on

It was actually supposed to be a DLC add-on to Halo 3, but Microsoft decided to add the complete set of multiplayer maps and charge full retail price for the game.

A number of private groups still play ODST regularly. I suggest that you look for and join them.

I disagree with you. I love this game, in my view it even has a better campaign than reach (It actually follows Halo cannon instead of showing many paradoxes) In my view Reach is the game that has been severely underdone, shorter campaign than Halo 2, un-original maps, It only made the whole load outs and armor abilities to compete with COD, in my opinion a worse ranking system than Halo 3 as it weakens the importance of team work.

Nice catch....with your face.

Sure I wish there was matchmaking for ODST firefight but other than that I love this game. I stil do Endure runs for the fun of it!
I like the characters in ODST better as well

I LOVE JACKALS!

And I ignorned this dumb post. Odst is fine. Its a little dumb because of no multiplayer, but hey, at least they made it happen.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

I love this game, but I agree that it wasn't given enough attention. I think ODST is great, but it could have truly been amazing and probably the best Halo of all time.

Also, it saddens me that there isn't more activity on this forum.

I will not claim to be good at Halo. I am not the first and probably not the last.

I like odst. the music, the plot. In my opinion it was done well. Maybe not the best halo game but it can hold its weight for what its worth in my opinion. I wished when i got it, that it would be its own stand alone. In truth it kind of is. An add on it felt like but it does not share reach's paradoxes, nor does it feel like a waste of money. Sure it feels short, sure the lack of matchmaking ( the mythic disc I am assuming is to level that aspect) or at least firefight partnering up was a bit disappointing. However the on the game itself people thought it was great till the next latest game came out and looking back they saw the problems. I use the word ''they'' meaning the gamer community as a whole realized that.
Someone once said hindsight is 20/20 and with this game some didn't realize its potential until after the dust settled. as for me i still have it and will still play it.

I play this game for its story and characters. The firefight mode is better than reach's yes. I still play this game at least once a week. All in all a great game. i disagree with the OP.

Why can't we put Bungie Cards here?

I loved the campaign in ODST and Firefight had its moments.

  • 02.22.2011 2:09 AM PDT

Firefight in this game was way more difficult than Reach for sure. The Endure Challenge is one of the most stressful challenges ever.. either than the LASO ones that are retarded

  • 02.22.2011 3:01 AM PDT

So no one thinks that bungie could have given this game more attention, that it was underdeveloped, and the Reach could have taken some notes from it?

Also, what is leading people to believe I think ODST is a bad game? Nowhere did I saythat. I said it was "underdeveloped," "ignored," and "could have been mucbh better."

  • 02.22.2011 12:17 PM PDT

ODST was an awesome game, its highlight was the stealth where you had to hide from your enemies or kill them from afar. Anyone who disliked the game, cannot appreciate bungie the way they should. The soundtrack from this was the best from any halo, so they must have put work into it somewhere. Yes no-one really plays it much, but hey... If I wanted to get rid of a game I disliked, it would be black ops.

Yay, this game is loved by someone other than me!!!!!!!!!!!!

ODST was horrible. I just bought it for the reach beta and achievements. oh yea and the campaign was repetitive. hey lets go look for the rest of our squad members and call it a storyline.

You wouldn't know a good storyline if it hit you in the face. What are you doing in the ODST forum anyway? Just being a troll?

What the hell is a signature?

Bungie should have made a DLC with matchmaking, and maybe even forging on the firefight maps. But this has nothing the do with reach....

Yeah he is. Same as the reach forum. ODST had one of the best halo storylines, maybe even the best.

Reach beats GoW!
Reach beats CoD!!
Reach beats everything!!!

I agree they didn't fully expand the idea. I think ODST had the best story and soundtrack. I absolutely loved this game!

  • 02.24.2011 4:53 PM PDT

Bungie said during the stages of ODST's Release it was NOT possible to add Matchmaking for Firefight on ODST, The H3 Engine didn't support it.

As far as I am aware - Adding DLC to it would have been rather pointless as it was only meant to be a short expansion.

ODST was basically made for something to play before Reach came out.

I'm the cult of personality,
I call it like i see it, if i feel the need to be blunt and to the point, then i will, if i feel the need to be very detailed, i will, im here to stay and im here to do things my way, if you respect that or not is your choice, not mine,
and don't worry, while i don't agree with everyone's opinion, i do respect everyone's opinion.

I think ODST is a great game and it proves a game doesnt need multiplayer to be a full game

it has the best campaign and multiplayer [ODSTs campaign and Halo 3s multiplayer] and the best FF

i think it was a great game i still play it

  • 02.25.2011 5:07 PM PDT

When Marines can't do it, and there ain't no Spartan to save the day... Only the ODST's are up for the job.

I liked the game. It was very different from the Halo games prior and that is what made it work. Bungie didn't ignore it. Odst was an expansion, but it was around done, but it had a lot of content that did work. It was hard placing the game in a category.

If this had been an expansion, do you think anyone would have cared? No. But Microsoft not Bungie decided to make it a retail game. Just take what you got and accept it. I liked the game for what it was. Sometimes it is all you can do.

At least BUNGIE TRIED.
