Cave Johnson here, we're done!
PS: If you are reading this comment while imagining my voice, don't panic. That's just a side effect of the testing.

Seriosuly, this game was so under everything. Underdeveolped, no matchmaking for a firefight better than reach's, not even a player search, compeltely ignored after reach came out, no DLC ever or further support.
That's because it's not a full game, their intent was to just make a short and simple story, provide it with some firefight (Which they did before in Marathon) and release amongst the masses.
Your judging it like a game that was made over a period of three years, this was made in one year.
The game is not underdeveloped, it's been fully developed as they intended. What they wanted inside of it went in, and the improvements they found after people played it was what they used to improve Reach.
If Reach was like this game it could have been much better. I think alot of people like ODST better. I feel like they turned this game into nothing more than a map pack and a beta test of firefight, just a short prelude of awesome before reach. Plus you beta tested reach for having this. Is that all it was to you bungie? ODST could have been a gem, but was just underdone. The fact that it included Halo 3 in its name reduced it to addon status.
I like ODST's campaign better, but then again I'm still fighting whether or not I like the story in Halo CE better than ODST. Even if it didn't have a beta code, I still would have bought it.
You also act like the entire bungie team worked on this. A small portion of bungie that wasn't working on Reach currently was being sent to work on ODST, a small project with a small team attached, and considering the time constraints, they made an amazing game.
Seriously, look at this forum. Theres no activity cause theres nothing to talk about. Half the threads are begging for firefight games.
The fact that this thread has yet to have a reply only strengthens my point.
Look at the Halo 3 forum, just a little more activity than what this forum has, and that is a AAA title.
It's unsettling to see you judge this game on the merits of improvements made in Halo Reach that had not yet existed in any halo game before it, as well as judge it like it was a full game.
ODST was an expansion, not DLC, but an extra story that we have yet to see that uses the Halo 3 engine. The only reason it was made full price was because of the addition of the Halo 3 multiplayer disk.
Halo 3 ODST is a gem. Saying it's not because of all the undeveloped features that didn't even come into Halo until Reach is a stupid statement. It's like saying "Why didn't Halo 3 include Firefight? They had it in Reach." Not to mention you keep going on about how they completely ignore it.
1) It's an expansion, not a full game, you try convincing the employees to not work on the 2 years in the making title that's going to be the last halo game they ever make, just so they make some DLC for an expansion.
2) They made four vidocs for this game, most of them being after they made the game. Bungie doesn't just let a baby go into the world and not explain what they were thinking in the design process. Don't even try to say "They ignored it". They couldn't manage Halo 3 dlc, developing reach, and ODST dlc. They are only a team of 100-150 or so.
3) "Is this all it was to you bungie?" Watch the vidocs, watch how marty took new strides into making a new feel towards this game, watch how the game designers are talking about the new things they tried with the Halo Franchise. Bungie took a lot of chances with ODST, they made a game that was nearly completely different from any halo game before it. ODST was a special project for those who built it, and if they had the opportunity I'm sure they would have given it more support.
