Well, Elites that wield Energy Swords are mostly far more, adept at fighting and are more intelligent as, well, they've killed thousands of enemies to get the rank necessary to receive the honor of the sword.
It's like us, some of us get things from our parents like abilities and the likes, say, an olympic swimmer were to have sex with some random woman and gets her pregnant, the baby would be less likely to get the attributes from his parents.
But if it was with another swimmer, I think the baby would have a genetic predisposition to be of a more slim and athletic body instead of a regular body.
This is wrong. Although I do agree, some people can be genetically predisposed to certain body types (fat, thin, fit, muscular), it still plays no factor in what you are and are not good at. We have skills and talents today that were not considered, or even fathomed to be, skills 100, 500 years ago.
If two fit swimmers have a baby, that baby could turn out anyway. If that baby doesn't put down the chips and cake, that baby, when it grows up, is gonna fat, lazy, and most certainly, not an Olympic swimmer. It's all upbringing and environment.
Let's take Usze Taham as an example.
Posted by: www.halopedian.com
Although Usze 'Taham was born into a respected merchant family in the state of 'Taham, he was fathered by Toha 'Sumai, one of the prominent swordfighters of this age. Toha mated with Usze's mother, a privilege granted by being a Swordsman, and Usze was raised by his mother and her husband.
I don't think Usze Taham is using a sword
Why isn't he using a sword? He has Sword DNA! Give that man a sword!
Oh wait...you need to PRACTICE to become a good swordsman. But if you have Sword DNA...you should be an instant God of the sword. So...if good swordsmanship is in their DNA then everyone has Sword DNA...then it's not special to use a sword. So then why do you need to be an aristocrat to use a sword if everyone has Sword DNA? Usze Taham doesn't look like an aristocrat, nor does his family seem like aristocracy...so then why was he born in the first place?
So...if only aristocrats can use swords...why does Thel Lodamee have a sword? It never says he is an aristocrat. What's going on? Was he trained to use a sword? I'm confused.
God in Heaven help me...
Lets look up the definition of Schlock. Lets take a moment to do that...and then think about what I just typed.
All done...lets move on.

Well I said "sword genes" was the crude way of putting it. You have to agree though that there are certain genes that would make one more suited to something, yes? That's my take on it anyway, that being a sword master for Elites is more than just wielding a sword, and thus why they would want a specific genetic set for one.
I do agree, there are some genetic dispositions, like body weight, height, etc, that could help to become a better sword wielder...but I refute the idea that Swordsmanship is in their genetic code. Why isn't ship piloting, or vegetable cutting, or cooking, or dancing, or singing also part of their DNA. Again...I agree on traits that can make skills easier/harder to learn...but I refute the idea that people have skills in DNA.

You are talking about the first time the game players have seen them right? Not the the Brute's first canon appearance?
I apologize, I was unclear about exactly what I meant to say.
Yes, I am talking about their first video game appearance...which was Halo 2.

I think they've looked cool in all their appearances. The two are not all that different looking, I think we'd have the same thing playing out as with the different sub-sets of Humanity. You know how like Asians would look very different from a European, but they're still both humans. The Reach Brutes are simply less hairy than the others we've seen and have a different shaped head.
I do like Halo 2 Brutes and I do like Halo 3/ODST/Wars Brutes.
And you raise a good point about different sub-species. But...between Asians and Europeans...there are tiny differences. Skin tone, hair color, etc.
Reach brutes look like a totally different species than Halo 3/ODST/Wars Brutes. Perhaps radical differences in appearance is possible...but from what we know of humanity, which is our only basis of comparison, and as Brutes look as close to humans as any Covenant species could hope to be, I think it's fair to make a conclusion, although a very debatable conclusion, that Reach Brutes are not a sub-species...but rather...a really poor job in recreating the Halo 3/ODST/Wars Brutes because Bungie wanted to make things look different to confuse us.

What...?
That's a gorilla...not a Brute. (And don't say "they are the same thing" because we all know they are not, it's just a racist term...yes...calling them Gorialls is a racist term in context. I know...it strange saying not to be racist to a fictional species...but...real or fake, it says a lot about someone if they can use derogatory terms just because they don't like something.)
I dunno what you are trying to say here...but...try putting your idea in the form of words.
Now...I need to address something here...

Besides Brutes just have their nightly village circle-jerk, were every Brute minor gives head to the local chief of the village.....cookie if you get the reference.
I needed to check what you meant by cookie, and after taking into consideration what you said, and checking Google...I must say you are one of the dumbest, and possibly, most sick humans alive.
Nobody is interested in the content matter to which you touch yourself at night to. Nobody is interested in your "cookie" hobby, or any other practice you engage in.
Go and make your sick jokes somewhere else. Because, that is rather disgusting, and not only is it unfounded, it makes you look VERY stupid.
If you have nothing intelligent to contribute, go away.
