"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Perhaps Reach Brutes are metro-blam!-, that's why they are shaven.

When I ay the skull is different, I mean it's totally a different shape.

Now, granted, the conheads argument is, more or less, a small part of malformed skulls. But look at the eye sockets, head shape, width, height...and you will see it is vastly different.

Also with the feet.

Look at the toes on the follow two pictures:

Halo 3 Brute

Halo Reach Brute

There is a subtle different in the feet. spacing between the toes, how far up it goes, the nails themselves, color of the nails...

The legs are missing the muscular bulges on the calf section of the Reach Brute. I may have misused the word "straight" in context of the legs. I should have said they are not bulging enough on the Reach Brutes

The Reach Brute has way smoother, almost human-like skin.

You can tell, just by the formation of the goatee, that the Halo 3 Brute's chin is wider and rounder.

The teeth are a no-contest. Teeth are universally identical across a species, in terms of shape, not size. Smaller dogs have smaller teeth, just so all the teeth can fit, but even the smallest dog has the same amount of chompers, canines, and grinders as a big dog. and they retain a universal shape and order.

A Reach brutes shoulders slouch. A Halo 3 Brutes shoulders bulge. Halo 3 Brutes have broader shoulders.

War Chieftain

Halo Reach Brute

Take a good look at the facial structure.

There was a good picture I saw once...a Brute roaring right in the Masterchief's face. I will try to find it...but you could clearly see how wide Brutes could open their mouths...I will try and find a pic...

But look at the mouths

Real Brute

Some...thing...

But I don't wanna get off topic with the Elites again, but there were much FEWER changes to the Elites than there were Brutes.

What would people say if Elites no longer had mandibles?

They would say:

"Bungie screwed up"

They most key features of Brutes were literally destroyed by Bungie. Good one Bungie...good thing you will never work on another Halo game again. Even Ensemble Studios got Brutes right on their first try. This was the fourth game with Brutes and you screwed it up! Stop changing things!

Wait...they are gonna stop...they no longer have their hands on Halo.

Whew.

What you've got to remember is that halo reach is a prequel. That means that back then brutes werent the alpha covenant being, far from it. The elites got all the fancy armour.

Then why do they have Halo 3 power armor in Halo Wars?

I like to play Devil's Advocate

To be honest, I just wish they cut Brutes out of Reach alltogether, all the more when you put into account the time constraints.

You know what I think they should've done? That would've both saved time....AND make brutes menacing?

Instead of seeing them....You hear them....

Think about it

You would have a marine sending out a distress call, and *rat-a-tat-tat* You hear the sound of Spiker Slugs hitting a wall, and the marine groaning in pain, seconds later, you hear a loud roar, and the sound of tendons and bones snapping apart....followed by the marines cries for help and then....silence....

And who knows, maybe the time they could have saved on the brutes could have been used for say....

making a story with less plot holes

Well, I had a whole long reply, but it wouldn't post -.- and I don't feel like typing it up again *sigh*
I'll just sum up what I said: I agree and disagree with you. I do not think Brutes changed all that much. All the skin looked much rougher in Halo 2/3, even the Humans looked like they had sandpaper for skin. The only things I agree that was changed drastically is the skull shape, but even that is not all that different from their previous incarnations.

They most key features of Brutes were literally destroyed by Bungie. Good one Bungie...good thing you will never work on another Halo game again. Even Ensemble Studios got Brutes right on their first try. This was the fourth game with Brutes and you screwed it up! Stop changing things!

*sigh* comments like this really disappoint me -.-
This community is so ungrateful, we've had ten awesome years with Bungie, and how do they show their thanks? With comments like "Hurr, Bungie r teh suckz, they -blam!- up evrytings and -blam!- all over teh cannunz, dur, Bungie r suck dick." -.-

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Sorry to say it bud...But Bungie did screw things up.

I am certainly glad it wont be 11 years.

But to say Reach Brutes are not that different, you really need to take a close look, and you really need to compare. These are two vastly different designs and Bungie DID ruin the design of the Brute.

You say the head shape is only slightly different?

Halo 3 Brute

Halo Reach Brute

The Reach brute has a VASTLY different head! Why can't people see this? I am going to try to find a better pic, with an exposed head on the Reach Brute.

The skin in Halo 3/ODST looked fine to me...

[url=
http://www.totalvideogames.com/img/uploaded/www.totalvideogam es.com_70323_Marine_Comparisons.jpg]Halo marines[/url]

The skin DID NOT change between Reach and Halo3/ODST. This is no excuse!

Stop excusing the terrible job Bungie did!

The changed the eyes, mouth, skull, muscular structure of the arms and legs...they changed too much!

Bungie destroyed Brutes...and I am glad they will never touch Halo again. They just got lazy and tossed them in. Every game was rushed...every game...they always rush their work...this studio leaves much to be desired. Thank God for 343.

Let this be known for all time!

Or that they were going for something that retained some simian characteristics, while being more alien-like.

I'm not saying that I approve of this take, but I no longer think of them as just miniturized King Kongs.

The design of the Brute remained largely the same (with exception to more teeth from Halo 2 to 3/ODST)

Their design lasted 3 games...but all of a sudden...when the WORST game in the franchise comes along (Halo Reach)...their design changes...

Why did they have to put most of them in skin-tight speedos? Like...even their choice of clothing was absurd!

They were hairy in number two, yet they are more shaved in Halo 3.

They were practically naked in Halo 2...

They were...good thing they had fur in all the right places in Halo 2...

but...they still looked better...STRICTLY speaking from a design point of view...

Alright......So We've ripped Reach brutes to threads....We can say that their design sucked....and their AI sucked....

Let's talk about how it COULD'VE been improved....

Make them look like Halo 2 Brutes, for Starters.

Yeah,

Like....All things considered

I WOULD forgive the total skull transformation....

Had the brutes bore some resemblance to their Halo 2 counterparts

Dark skin...Bandoleers...Hair...

And let's not forget

Beards and/or goatees...and brutehawks.

But Cuban! You handsome devil, Brutes DO have goatees! See!

No disrespect to Sage Merrill's Meme Status beard...

But when you pop the headdress off a brute, and you see this ....the goatee just seems out of place on it, in contrast to the TOTAL no-hair
