Were there any Spartan III's in existence during the glassing of this planet? I don't think there should be. Halo Wars takes place before the Spartan III program began, I believe. I could be wrong, though.
Thats what I was saying! I asked if we can do another Planet, like Reach.
Since the Spartan III program started so late in the Halo timeline, canon options are limited quite a bit. The first Spartan III class was cleared in 2536. So any time after that is fair game, I guess.
New Constantinople was the first real use of the Spartan IIIs, and not just headhunter teams, the entirety of the Alpha company's Spartans were there. That was also where Vice Admiral Whitcomb (a major player in the battle of Reach) gained some notoriety for leading the forces. The planet was glassed in 2536.
The Leonis Minoris system was home to three colonies. Two were sacrificed to protect the third. Any other information, including the fate of the third planet, is unknown. The war there took place in 2537.
Kholo was partially glassed in 2539, and the Covenant glyph "faith" was etched into its crust with a glassing beam. The only other information about that planet is that some humans survived the glassing, and began fighting Kig-yar over Forerunner relics on the planet.
Miridem was a major battle in 2544, Spartan IIs were present, and Spartan III headhunter teams could have been. Dr Halsey was taken hostage by the Covenant.
Skopje was an inner colony glassed in 2547. ODSTs were in heavy force there. There was a big shipbuilding company on the planet, and the UNSC wanted to retrieve some of the resources and/or blueprints in order to continue building ships for the war. Because of this, they would have been pretty determined to fight, and would have likely sent in Spartan IIIs to assist the ODSTs. A castle that had been built on the planet by a CEO was a very important strategic base.
Arcadia was glassed in 2549, but the battle took place in the early 2530's.
Paris IV was glassed in 2549, and was a major conflict in which Sergeant Major Johnson participated. Not much else is known
New Jerusalem was glassed in 2552. The Rookie from ODST fought in the battle, and was one of the few survivors. UNSC presence was nearly wiped out before they retreated.
Coral was home to a recently discovered Forerunner installation that was expansive, and buried deep underground. It was discovered during a mining operation. Reports that it had been glassed came in during late 2552, but, as the Forerunner structure was there, it was most likely partially glassed. The planet was home to an asteroid belt, where much of the naval battle most likely took place. It may not have been glassed at all. The planet was most likely home to a large Muslim population. (On a side note, I believe that Gray Team could have been present at this battle. They had been out of contact for a long time, and Coral was nearly out of contact as well. Gray Team was out on their own, and they could easily have been on Coral during the battle.)
There was also Reach, and Earth, which were attacked in 2552, Reach being almost completely glassed (with the exception of CASTLE base), and Earth being partially glassed (half of Africa, to stop the Flood).
I think that's all, at least according to Halopedia. You can always make something up, just be careful to choose an original name. Try to make any made-up planet sound as believable as possible. If it is going to be a long story, make a map, so you don't accidentally contradict yourself with directions.
I would go with either the Leonis Minoris sytem, Coral, or New Constantinople. Leonis and Coral leave a lot of creative liberty, as the battles and the results of the battles, are unknown. New Constantinople is a major conflict, Spartan IIIs were definitely there, and you could have a much larger cast of Spartans. Your choice.
