I just got Halo Pc, and I can't figure out which number of sensitivety (sp?) to keep. Which do you prefer, for both horizontal and verticle?

It's a matter of personal preference dictated by your system. I would try the extremes 1 and 10 first to see which one is better then go up til you find the best setting. I would keep the vertical low, you more likely to need quicker response left and right not up and down.

Well, it all depends on what weapon you are wielding at the time. I like a low sensitivity with the sniping rifle, pistol, and shotgun. Medium on heavies, and fast when I'm in vehicles.

Of course switching sensitivity during game isn't realistic. So the best advice I could give you is to get a good gaming mouse. Mainly one that has on the fly dpi adjustments. I bought the Logitech MX518 gaming mouse. It has up to 5 on the fly adjustments. Mine is set on, 550, 750, and 1000. This is an excellent mouse that you can quickly switch speed settings under heavy battle with just the touch of a button.

Otherwise, you need to pick a setting that works for the weapons that you like to use the most.

Newegg has this mouse for under $45.00. I paid $50.00 for mine, and it greatly improved my game. It took a couple of weeks to get used to it, but it was well worth it.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, me too. True what was said about the vertical sensitivity, it probly doesn't need to be as high as 10, but if you can get good at using all of the weapons on 10, you're golden. It's just a lot more rewarding than trying to get good at a sensitivity of 1.

I stick with 2. 1 is just too freaking slow, and 3 is a little fast for me.

Feh, I've kept it at default...whatever that is...5? I know I tweaked it to be slightly faster, made it about 6 for both pitch and yaw. But its basically default i've been using. Great for general purposes.

I've heard of people assigned specific roles in a clan tweaking controls to their preference, though. Example, some designated snipers in a clan purposely slow their controls to allow for excellent sniping, at the cost of their ability to turn around quickly. Others, like designated flag-grabbers, have pretty high look sensitivity to allow them to quickly turn around and blast their pursuers. So it depends.

I have mine at 10 all the time. Everything else is just too slow. I want to be able to cross the screen without lifting my mouse.

meh, you wouldn't believe about how long I was playing with my sensitivity, originally I had it on 3 (default) but then I was finding to up my gameplay I set it to either 5 or 6 until after about 3 months of play I decided on 5. Not too fast, but quick enough that I can catch someone shooting me from behind.

I USED to have it on 10 but then i got a new mouse and had to back it down to 5 to achieve the same sensitivity... trying to work my way up though.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

You know you are an expert Halo player when you are set at 10, plus your mouse speed setting in Windows is maxed out as well.

Best advice, set it to 7 to begin with, it will be way too fast for you, but you need to get used to it as quickly as possible. Eventually you MUST get to 10 if you expect to dominate.

the only thing with 10 is that it puts more space between each scan from the mouse so you end up being more inaccurate... what i do is put the sensitivity on my razer mouse to 10 (1600 dpi... :D) and then set halo's speed to about 6 or 7 i cant remember. this way i can shoot accurately to the pixel while still being able to spin 360 degrees without lifting my mouse.
