Subject: Why would Brutes and Drones be in Reach?

Yes, I AM just that awesome.

I understand they were in Halo: Contact Harvest. But in Halo: Combat Evolved, you were in a Covenant ship, Drones, at the time, were used to repair, so they should have been in the level "Keyes". Not to be confused with engineers, who scavange equipment and use it for the Covenant. I understand that the insectisoid creatures in Contact Harvest could have been Flybugs, the "Predesecor" to Drones. Or even possibly Engineers. However, the apelike creatures in Contact Harvest were unmistakably Brutes.

Check out 8 1/2 SPARTANS

Cause Thel didn't have any brutes on his ship in halo 1 and we didn't see any drones because they were too busy with repairs.

Signatures are for squares.

Drones are only used for repairs on Brute ships, where getting Engineers was near impossible. All the ships at Alpha Halo were under Thel's command, and he had access to many engineers. So, no drones. Also, Thel loathed Brutes, so there were none in his fleet.

The ship in Halo CE was an Elite run ship, so there weren't any Brutes on it.

As for the Drones...I don't know. Maybe that kind of Covenant ship didn't require Drones (there were none on the Corvette in Halo Reach).

They had Engineers in Halo CE originally, but then they cut them because I think they had no reason to be in the game. You can give the Engineers spawn points in Halo CE on the PC and they show up.

They also would have been in Long Night of Solace, yet none are shown. They probably got blown to pieces when you take out the engines.

  • 02.22.2011 6:34 PM PDT

In halo CE you are fighting of thel'vadams personal squad of ships. Being the commander of the entire fleet that attacked reach, he probably was able to choose which ships were in his squad himself, and naturally, being an elite, he would choose all elite led ships.

Elites and brutes do not share ships.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

It would appear that the Fleet of Particular Justice did not have any Drones or Brutes in it. This may be because of Thel's and the rest of the Elites' disdain for the Brutes.

uh, then why were there brutes on reach?

The entire fleet of particular justice does not = the 12 (or was it 7?) ships thel vadam followed the POA to halo with.

The fleet of Particular Justice didn't arrive until the 30th...

Anyway, yeah Thel's ships weren't the entire fleet. A portion but not the whole.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Engineers were most likely to appear on an Elite controlled ship rather than a Drone.

LOL :')

The fleet of particular justice was the group of ships that followed the PoA to Halo, read up on it.

The brutes where on Reach becauase they were part of the covenant, and it was the entire (or most of) the covenant armada that assaulted Reach.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

To increase enemy diversity.

Elites see brutes as terrible creatures and the hierarchs only trusted the elites with guarding halo but destroyin humans they wanted both as to complete it faster. As for the 'buggers' they were only put on low level creatures ships such as brutes as they were both seen as insignificant just like the grunts and jacals.

Oh, I will, seeing that the statement was in Thel's report to the Council.

Drones= History/Timeline of halo fail.

Brutes= They where supposedly the main species to attack Reach
In Halsey's journal, you will notice that on the page with the descriptions of Jackals, Grunts, and Brutes, there are non of Elites.

?
The dialogue in ODST suggests that they were used sometimes as soldiers.

That section was about Harvest.

Yea but it's in a game manual, it can be easily overruled.
