What the hell is a signature?

It's a research facility...and a cover for the MUCH larger ONI operation going on underneath the building. It's not an office building...it's a facade.

How would you even give people a tour of the place when they need to go through very uncomfortable gravity lifts?

Do you even know what a facade is? It's a fake...the entire building is a fake. Ever notice how the ONLY people/corpses you find in the building and surrounding areas in campaign, are only Marines? No researchers, no civilians, no workers? That's because they were never there.

That's just my opinion though.
It seems you just killed a good joke. The non-military personel were probably evacuated from the building when the invasion started. The Marines tried to hold the position and thats why they are the only ones there

I can just imagine it now...

"Ladies and Gentlemen, unfortunetly the elevators in the building are currently down for repairs, so we will be continuing this tour with the help of these gravity lifts. Before we continue, however, I would like for you all to sign this contract stating that ONI is not responsible for any injuries you may sustain while on this tour."

I think it's pretty obvious the Spartans would be drinking Rockstars.

Exactly, we can't possibly know what technological advances have brought mankind to be capable of.

Sure, but I'm pretty sure we will be drinking soda 100 years from now. Why wouldn't we drink SOME sort of Coffee?

I lold! But thats just for MM, the actual building for campaign has no yellow lift, and the air vent is blocked.

The Glift in the middle was just for show, captured from the covies and it has a plack on the floor.

i think that part of the base was defense only

Marines will still break their legs if they miss the gravity lift. Still inconvenient and ill-designed. Say theres a hostage on the fourth floor, I got to use every goddamn lift and thing in the base instead of just sprinting to the top, or once again, USING SOME GODDAMN ELEVATORS!

The purple lift is of covenant nature :D

Then it needs to be removed immediately from the premises.

Butt it makes the place so roomy. It needed some purple.

Maybe they invented something to keep them hydrated for a good amount of time or some other crazy -blam!-. Remember back then when people believed man flying would be impossible?

We experience them through the boots of an armor encased 1000 pound super soldier.

can you imagine what it would feel like to be thrown about as a normal human?

Exactly. Can you imagine the force needed to lift 1000 pounds? Imagine how fast 160 pounds would go.
