Recently I was thinking (sometimes I do that, hurts when I do though) how each of the Halo games could be improved. My idea is simple, create a thread, and see what the Bungie universe forum thinks what could have been done to make the story more compelling, or fun.

Your assignment is to pick a level, any level, and make it better!

My example:
Long Night of Solace (Halo Reach)
While attacking the Corvette, the rest of the fleet arrives. Noble is unable to load the bomb. The Sabre teams new objective is to hold off the fleet while the ODPs are preparing themselves.

You then engage in a Star Wars Battle Front II esque battle (except larger) and hit hardpoints on Covenant ships. When you've damaged X amount of ships, the UNSC fleet arrives, and you doc with the UNSC Trafalgar. End of Level.

You see a cutscene where Keyes and the PoA destroys the Supercruiser.

Watch as commanders bicker over a plan to destroy the LNoS. Same plan as before, but now, it's the Trafalgar as a distraction, and you plant a nuclear warhead (pirated from one of the many UNSC ships in orbit) with you, a wing of Long/shortswords and the Sabre teams engage with LNoS. You're able to disable it's engines. You plant the bomb, escape.

While getting back into your Sabre, Jorge is pulled down by a hunter pair without his weapon. You see him struggle against them throwing seemingly weak punches. One hunter uses his shield, it goes through Jorge, and he's ripped in half. Six meanwhile, get's out of the sabre, kills the hunters, gathers the dog tags, leaves. After reaching a certain distance away, he detonates the nuke, and the LNoS is gone, still at the price of Jorge.

I don't think that Sabers could do that much against a fleet.

Hell, all they really did was shoot out the engines of a Corvette.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Make levels better? Okay.

The whole Halo: Reach campaign:
Make it better by not crapping all over the canon. Have the campaign follow Master Chief's story. Follow the book, Halo: The Fall of Reach. People were getting tired of playing as Master Chief, you say? Well, make it like ODST. Have us switch between Blue Team characters.

To be honest, there is no real canon error to it. Halsey's Journal pretty much explained everything.

I haven't had the luxury of reading Halsey's journal. But still...they shouldn't have made the game about Noble Team. It was meant to be about the Master Chief and his story. That's what we were all expecting. (Or maybe it's just me.) Not some poorly thrown together story about Spartan-III's.

I wouldn't want to exactly play a game where I know everything that's going to happen.

I would have been happier if it was about the Marines or Army Soldiers, though.
