Subject: Lets talk about Sangheili life.

"Find where the liar hides, so that I may place my boot between his gums!" - Rtas 'Vadum

When I read the description of Sangheilios in the Encyclopedia, the idea I got from it was that Sangheilios was the only world they have.

Pg 299
Most, if not all, Sangheili warriors have come from the planet, including the latest Arbiter.

They do not appear to have attempted colonization. Kind of risky, especially given their predicament after Halo 3.

I am Field Master Avu Med 'Telcam, Servant of the Abiding Truth, and I have many brothers.

A god who creates tools is still a god. It is not for us to impose qualifications upon the divine or presume to guess its intentions.

I just don't think colonization is apart of their culture. There is only one homeland in their eyes. Mother Sanghelios. To be from anywhere else might seem, less pure. Complete speculation, but judging off their other behavioral patterns of honor and discipline, it doesn't seem far off.

If you can read this, that means I'm not a Shaolin monk...

yet.

Being born on Sanghelios is appaerently a big deal, so I would think that those born on ships or High Charity were less pure.

Yeah. It does say warriors as well, and that might not apply to "serfs" as they put it. Perhaps only those of the Homeworld are considered worthy enough to be a part of the Covenant. Elitist Elites. heh

They must have agricultural worlds or something. Feeding 9 billion mouths with something as rough as Sangheilios' climate would be difficult.

Actually, the females does not have mandibles.

In the Duel, yes, but that is only artistic interpretation, it is not necessarily canon. The events of Halo Legends are one hundred percent canon, but small features, such as how a character looks or something like that is not necessarily canon, like Han's appearance or the armor of the Big Bad in the Duel.

It's canon until proven utherwise. There's no need for speculation upon this regard as of now.

Ooo, ooo I get to quote Frankie here on this, at least in reguards to the female Sangheili appearance in the Duel:

Actually, her bewb structure is deliberately ambiguous - it could be some gross ribcage extension. To be clear, if we did a Bestiarum version of a female Elite (and we might, for this very purpose), it would be a lot more alien and gross, to be honest. Some of her appearance is in service to the story. Her basic silhouette is about right though. The "femininity" is deliberate - we've already set up Elite society as a fairly rigid patriarchal society, where breeding rights and lots of their pretty misogynistic, or at east "old fashioned" elements are in play. Our Arbiter, being a pretty forward thinking fellow, has a much more equitable relationship with his wife than is typical.
Source: post on HBO

Translation: her appearance is not really canon.

No it isnt. Females would have the same jaw structure, no hair. Though, Slas had some cool concepts on DA.

Sangheili Major: "Brute ships. Staggered line! Shipmaster, they outnumber us, three-to-one!"

Rtas 'Vadum: "Then it is an even fight. All Cruisers, fire at will! Burn their mongrel hides!"

By what I bolded in what Frankie said, I hope I don't end up preferring her Legends' look...though, now I'm very curious as to what female Sangheili really look like. -hopes they do a bestiarum of a female Sangheili-

My personal guess is something akin to their male counterparts, only as Frankie kinda said, obviously feminine, at least I think that's what he was saying they intended for them, and yet not something a human would want to get into bed with ;P xD
unless of course you happen to that person, I'm sure you all know who I mean ;)

Haha maybe xD I wouldn't though, it'd have to at look at least slightly human for me to even consider it, like I couldn't do any of Halo's aliens, they're all, well, too alien. the Brutes come closest to looking human, but they're more likes apes, so it'd be like -blam!-ing an ape O_o
I could have a Mass Effect alien though, except for the Krogan they're all pretty human looking, or close enough that I wouldn't mind it :P

Ahaha, oh my. LOL. This -for some reason- reminds me of a horrible fanfic I read about Rtas and Thel...Well, not so much "horrible" as "scarring".
Oh, maybe they have double mandibles. 8D LOLno...maybe something inside the mandibles.
And now I'm going completely off track so I'll stop now before I scar my mind to the point of where it is mush. :>

There are tons of those ones out there. You will be surprised exactly how many people are secretly Sangheili xenophiliacs.

Off topic: Atleast she doesn't draw perv images like other people and I did once.

On topic: I always that maybe civilian jobs were tied into supporting military structure(like WW2 factories) or training. No idea about agriculture.

Females would be an option for these kinds of jobs, considering that they could be equal strength to males(atleast I think so). I think that females would be pulled into military service after the alliance with humans.

It's possible that we learn a few advantages from Sangheili(political, training, etc.), Vise Versa.

It's always some chick writer out there who puts these heros in bad portrayals.
*Gestures fan-fic writer WarLordFil, and the other, Sl'Askia, and others for their portrayal of "Semo"(WDF write?) Sangheili.*

Yes. Funny how I kept reading it, though. After I knew where it was going. -/shot for realizing how wrong that sounded-
And it will sound less wrong for me carrying on reading it if I say that I am a girl. I think...LOL.

Anyways, I would think they do farm. Can't say for sure, though.

Hold it right there.

Hello. Name's Brian. Look, if you're looking for a flame war with me, just open up the Flood and write up some not-nice things about religion and I'll bring my nukes to the party.

If you want some other way to contact me, you can forget it.

If you're interested in some of my work, you can check my homepage out.

Well, I know doctors are frowned upon for spillin blood outside the field of combat.

Females don't fight, ever, they leave it to the males suggesting they are inclined to male dominance.

And I'm sure they can't do the most enjoyable things humans do in their every day lives.

Flip each other the bird.

*slaps him with a trout*

There are far worse portrayals of Sangheili in slash fics than what myself (yes I am that Sl'askia) and WarlordFil write. The difference between myself and Fil though is that I use original characters for said slash. In both our cases though, the slash itself is usually not the main drive of the story to begin with.

And I use 'semo' in the place of the human term for it for a simple reason: realistically, they would have their own terms for such things and using them helps the remind the reader they are aliens.

As for you challenge, I actually do have an faint idea for a female/female fic, but I need to finish Zendou first.

*on topic*

Considering they're are carnivorous, I doubt they do much farming in the sense of vegatibles and whatnot. Herd animals though, yes, I do believe they do.

Don't worry. I'm only doing it to pull all of your legs. For the LOLz men and women!(I might be serious about the fem/fem thing though.)

OT: But how can a Sangheili live without basic nutrients that would probably lack in most animals(remember the 10% rule: all animals pass energy and nutrients down 10% after being consumed or assimilated). It would make more sense if the Sangheili atleast ate a fruit or vegetable once in while.

Weapon of Oppression

Finnaly!Someone with a topic on my speciality.

Civilian Life: I say that multiple proffesions, scholar, farmer, dancer, the dreaded doctor. They live in small towns all over Sanghelios, not much of a money system, mostly trading.

Females: Facially, similar to the males, but smaller mouth, bigger eyes. Overall, more beautiful. Live birth (halo the cole protocal), but wether they have breasts will be an ongoing argument among fans.

My case

Actually Sangheli lay eggs.
Elites are of saurian nature.

Erm...same way our own carnivours do? You never see a lion or bird of prey eating an orange ya know. They eat more than just the muscle tissue, but the other organs as well (liver, kindeys, hell...everything, including the bones with some speices).

It's called the Theory of Evolution, Adaptation+Imagination, lass. Let alone our imaginations are the only answer to everything...the Flood, Cryptum, Precursors, and obsession with Sangheili...

Do not judge me.

And now-

Wait, never mind, I give up.

To sum things up, i will say one phrase:

That's why they invented straws.

Wait...What the heck?
