It's called the Theory of Evolution, Adaptation+Imagination, lass. Let alone our imaginations are the only answer to everything...the Flood, Cryptum, Precursors, and obsession with Sangheili...

Do not judge me.

And now-

Wait, never mind, I give up.

To sum things up, i will say one phrase:

That's why they invented straws.

Wait...What the heck?

Lol. Friend, I think you are losing it, ;)

Anyway, it is natural for us to speculate based on things we are familiar with. After all, we have yet to actually meet an alien, so we only have our own planet and its species to compare things to.

I am a penguin. Every day I boogie on down to the water, and eat fish. Once, while fishing in the deepest depths, I saw great Cthulhu... And he said to me "Shine, to thine own self be true. They can't tell you what to do once you've gone guru." Also, I should tell you, "slide".

If Halo Legends is to be believed (I wouldn't), their home world is Feudal Japan, and the local dialect (when translated into english) is similar to bad human acting.

Lol.
I've always objected to the similarities between Sangheili and Japanese culture. I've always preferred to view it as more similar to that of the ancient Greeks (individual city-states, glorious deaths on the battlefield, strong warrior society). I just wish the authors (both of The Duel and The Cole Protocol) would try more to establish a unique culture for a unique species. But hey, if you need stupidly honor-obsessed warriors willing to kill themselves over something trivial, where else do you go?

Funny. More people here preffer eggs, while everyone (almost) on DA preffer live birth. We is all insane. I love it!

Sangheili Major: "Brute ships. Staggered line! Shipmaster, they outnumber us, three-to-one!"

Rtas 'Vadum: "Then it is an even fight. All Cruisers, fire at will! Burn their mongrel hides!"

LOL, I prefer eggs...it just seems to "suit" them, I guess. And I can't imagine them giving birth...well, then again, I can't exactly imagine them laying eggs, either...Wait- why am I even trying to imagine it? -facedesk-

Considering what you just described now, aren't the Sangheili a bit ancient Greek as is? They do have city-states and a strong warrior society after all.

Two words for you: Massive Writers Block.

Wait...that was three.

Duel Hearts (which is the sub-title for #5) I unfortunately have no ETA on completion. :(

Females don't fight, ever, they leave it to the males suggesting they are inclined to male dominance.

Where the Hell are people pulling this from O_o nothing I have ever seen in the Halo canon suggests that, so where on Earth is this coming from?!!?!?

Probably the fact that there are only two female Sangheili known. [At least as far as I am aware]
Han from Legends and Sanj'ik, the Weapons Master from Halo Wars: Genesis.
And also because of their whole culture thing and whatnot.

  • 02.25.2011 2:47 PM PDT

No new games, catching up with the world, and filling it with the name of SpazDragon, the dragon with a spas-12.

It's possible that may have been recruited for engineering rare weapons, possibly traditional swords and staffs. Of course, there could be enough minerals on Sangheilios to supply unique metals, as well on other planets, all of it enough to work with.

Other work forces could be like archeologists, searching for artifacts from Forerunner and ancestral origins.

Lot's of other jobs would be compared to our own jobs anyway, etc., etc..

Due to their separation from the Covenant, it's likely that Sangheili will have to fully fend for themselves with the help of Humans. What supplies and machinery they have will be quite limited without the San'Shyuum's help, because they were specialized in the technology of their lords. Now I think elites will revert to a primitive-technological state unless they figure something out.

I don't see how their culture really has anything to do with it :/ It sounds to me like any Elite can get anywhere they want in societal ranks if they're good enough. I think a lot of people confusing a lack of mention with absence from the military in the Haloverse. Of course if Bungie or 343 actually comes out and states "females don't take part in combat" then I'll simply accept it, but until they do that argument just won't make sense to me, I have not seen anything in canon at all to back it up, so it'll always seem somewhat of a silly argument until canon actually tells us something definite about female Elites.

My personal guess is something akin to their male counterparts, only as Frankie kinda said, obviously feminine, at least I think that's what he was saying they intended for them, and yet not something a human would want to get into bed with ;P xD
unless of course you happen to that person, I'm sure you all know who I mean ;)

Ahaha, oh my. LOL. This -for some reason- reminds me of a horrible fanfic I read about Rtas and Thel...Well, not so much "horrible" as "scarring".
Oh, maybe they have double mandibles. 8D LOLno...maybe something inside the mandibles.
And now I'm going completely off track so I'll stop now before I scar my mind to the point of where it is mush. :>

Oh wow, sounds horrible, was it by that horrible fanfic writer who must never be named by any chance? That person has some scarring stories O_O need to have a good can of brain bleach nearby if IT is around.

Like somebody said earlier, it of course could be Twin Blades.
It's always some chick writer out there who puts these heros in bad portrayals.
*Gestures fan-fic writer WarLordFil, and the other, Sl'Askia, and others for their portrayal of "Semo"(WDF write?) Sangheili.*

Guilty! Guilty! I. Say. Guilty!!!

To strike back, I say I write a story about "Semo" females!

*Realizes that the point goes off topic. Quickly registers an on topic comment*

Do Elites farm?

I would think they do, or did at one point, can't really say what they do in the current era.
They would have to farm so that their livestock gets food.

Elites are of saurian nature.
I would like to contest that.

Sangheili are not that Saurian in structure nor behavior. Both Kig-Yar Subspecies are more saurian than they are.

OMFG!!!

With that, there is only one option left...THE SCARAB GUN!!!

I wonder if there can be an epic battle between a Banhammer and Chuck Norris...Norris wants to know(probably already does) what is in that book...
***

I wonder if Female Sangheili can train, work up equal ranks, be a combat nurse, and do other feminine-sporting combat-role stuff.

You wanna see Sangheili life? Watch The Duel from Halo: Legends

  • 02.25.2011 6:57 PM PDT

for everyone wondering if elites farm or if they just eat meat remember theyre aliens they probably dont use the same food pyrimid as us shoot for all we know they use a food heptagon plus the 10% rule probably doesnt apply also they probably wont have a technolegy shortage since they still have their ships and with human and engineer help can maintain them

The Sangheili.

They are reptilian, possibly cold blooded, and they definitely lay eggs.

Their average IQ is similar to the average human IQ, but in some cases Sangheili are more intelligent.

Sangheili are a very old species. That explains why they very advanced even before The Covenant found them.

Their culture is similar to that of Feudal Japan, particularly Samurai.

Their average height is 8'. However, there are a few individuals that are even taller.

Sangheili females were playable in Halo 3, they looked very similar to males, but in Halo Legends they looked very different.

I wonder if Sangheili sub-species exist?

The Elites and Prophets are the original founders of the Covenant.

Specifically civil life.

We really only see The Sangheili race, arguably the most compelling race of The Covenant in clunky armor on a battlefield.

We have had some brief views of what Sangheili civil life was like in The Duel, but then again it is argued that a lot of portrayals in Halo Legends should not be treated as Canon. We also have insight to some traditions and practices that mirror Feudal Japan thanks to The Cole Protocol, however it does not give us the big picture.

Another question, what about Sangheili females?

Lets discuss.

I think everything in the duel, except for the appearance of Han, is canon, albeit things might be entirely different in the main Halo story's age, IE Halo Wars-3.

As for the females, I'd imagine, guessing from what we know of the Elite's culture and how it's a whole "rank and position by merit" sort of governance, that the females would be just as active in military service as the males, and I'd imagine they probably look somewhat similar too. I don't know how much dimorphism there is between the two, if there really is any.
