For those of you worried that we might see a FPS Halo game with kinect, this will make you happy.

He's lying.
"Microsoft doesn't comment on rumour or speculation"
They always say that, if there wasn't one he would have outright denied it.

"Question. Which Spartan is best?"
"That's a ridiculous question."
"False. Master Chief."
"Well, that's debatable. There are basically two schools of thought."
"Spartans shoot Sangheili. Spartans. Sangheili.....Battle Star Galactica."

Good.

I work out, try to eat right and stay in shape, and work hard at my job. I am a married man and I do my best to be a great husband. I help out around the house, kill spiders, investigate bumps in the night, and all that stuff. I am a force to be reckoned with if I have my tool box with me. We have an energetic English Bulldog that while adorable, is pretty -blam!- annoying.

But when it comes to video games, I want to be as much of a lazy bastard as I can. It's a simple as that. When I am relaxing, and that isn't terribly often, I don't want to have to run marathons in place or air punch aliens or throw bowling balls. The only thing I want in my hands are a video game controller, maybe a bottle of beer or a fine soda and a bag of chips at my side. I don't know about you guys and gals, but I'm getting really sick of the 'new-age' video game approach of having to use the new motion tracking technology.

Don't get me wrong, I think that stuff is nifty as billy-Hell, but some games SHOULD NOT have that in them. The Halo Franchise are some of those games - and I'm mega pumped that they've come out and admitted that.

If they want to do some crazy spinoff movie/motion/thing then by all means, go for it. But leave this lazy bastard his thumb-based-controller-video-games.

The comment "If you really want to play Halo CE on your 360, go to games on demand." Kinda pushes directly at no remake.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

No that pushes at, "Buy Halo 1 right now and later this year we will release the HD port which you can also buy, that way Microsoft get's more money from you".

Seriously, the fact that nobody involved with Halo 1 has denied the HD port makes it kind of obvious they got something in the works.

I agree whole heartedly. The same thing happened to the wii. Had some great motion control games, but everyone ends up resting the controller in their lap and twitching it to move. Most people don't want motion controls.

My biggest concern is quality of game play. Sure, motion controls are fun, but controllers are far more accurate. Its much more difficult for a console game to misinterpret a button push than it is waving.

Earlier both 343 and microsoft said they weren't interested in remakes. 343 said there was no Halo planned for 2011.

If this RUMORED remake was planned for November, it'd have to have heavy advertising right now to compete with GoW3 and Battlefield 3.

That was in October/November of last year, and as you can see Sony and Nintendo are making huge profits out of re-releases/remakes, so why not Halo?

343 said there was no Halo planned for 2011.
Correction: They said no new/major Halo title being released in 2011.

If this RUMORED remake was planned for November, it'd have to have heavy advertising right now to compete with GoW3 and Battlefield 3.A re-release of a 10 year old game isn't going to get major marketing like it would if it's a brand new game, a Halo 1 HD port would only cater to the hardcore fans of the series anyway.

Aren't sony and Nintendo remaking games that are unplayable on their current platforms?

I can easily go play either version of Halo CE right now. There isn't really a point to it.

The fact remains, NO advertising = less sold = less profit. If you believe the "343 wants as much money from halo possible." Then you'd click the dots together.

Especially seeing as the one rumor says it'll use the Reach engine, another be in 3d, and the third on an entirely new engine. That means basically building the ENTIRE game again. That's a lot of work.

We will know soon enough, but it will require thought. Deep thought. Mendicant Bias must be found. The Mantle will soon follow.

I would still buy Kinect-enabled Halo games no matter what, but that's just the hardcore fan in me talking. I do prefer controller gaming, but I'd love to see menu navigation with Kinect in any Halo. Overall ease and coolness from menu navigation with Kinect is unparalleled.

Yes and no, eitherway they are maing money off of it and pleasing their respected fanbases.

I can easily go play either version of Halo CE right now. There isn't really a point to it.I could also easily play Perfect Dark on the N64, but I chose to support the supperior product on the XBLA.

The fact remains, NO advertising = less sold = less profit. If you believe the "343 wants as much money from halo possible." Then you'd click the dots together.Advertising requires alot of money, on Halo: Reach alone Microosft spent well over 20 or 30 million dollars, for an HD port that would take out big chunk of possible profits.

Especially seeing as the one rumor says it'll use the Reach engine, another be in 3d, and the third on an entirely new engine. That means basically building the ENTIRE game again. That's a lot of work. The rumor actually states that they are not using the Reach engine. From what I would assume it will be getting the Perfect Dark treatment... it will use the same audio and gameplay features, new art assets/enhanced graphics. It will also feature Xbox Live support, and more than likely will use the same engine.

There's no confirmation of CE being remade. It's a RUMOR.

That article seals the deal for me. They aren't making a Halo HD.
Being brutally honest, it wouldn't make sense to spend all those resources on an old game to have a small percentage of people actually play it.
