I'm not what you call a true HALO fan although HALO 2 looks really cool. I'm all about game-play and i don't think HALO has the best game-play. There are many other games in the world that are called "great". My favorite in the world would be Chrono Trigger for SNES. Right now your probably thinking "what an idiot", but seriously HALO is definetly not the greateat game. If u have a favorite game other than HALO or HALO. Please, tell it to me so i know there are people who don't play HALO all the time. Whether it's story line or lots of killing. Prove to me that people don't have HALO on the mind all the time like some of my friends.

P.S. (I think some people might get offended by this).Reply please.

I think Metal Gear Solid for psx is the best game of all time. It had a kick ass story, pretty good graphics for the time, and an awesome gameplay.

For me its gotta be halo. Its just so fun, especilly when u get 2 boxes linked together. So fun to play with like 6 ppl.

But other then that, i really liked the original Max Payne. The story was excellent, gameplay insain (cuz of bullet-time) and hes just goin all out for revenge on his family.

Then i would have to go with Starcraft, i dont know how Halo fans think of blizzard games but starcraft was an amaseing game, with an awsome story line.

I always liked Grand theft auto3 and Vice City. I also think that halo has a good story line. Yes it is my favorite game, but by a hair. I think that Halo has the fun gameplay and a good storyline. I remember playing the first doom with my friend when we were about 10 years old. I played starcraft for a few years, Diablo 2, and then Halo came along. Right now if i am not playing Halo i am playing Ninja Gaiden (I think thats how you spell it), It is really fun. And i just cant wait for Halo 2 to come out. =)

Well, this forum is here to talk of Bungie... most people (here) know Bungie from HALO.(?)

But, I do like a few other games... keep in mind that the last console I owned was THE NES!

AOE: II {ok MP lvlx}
Star Trek: EF {Good MP lvls}
Wolfenstien {THE FPS} (First one BTW!)
Doom II

and the only other console game...
Final Fantasy {The first one, on NES}

for the record, i always thought GTA 2 was better than 3 and vice city.

Metal gear solid was awesome. I always thought it was cool the way they screwed with your head; when you fight psycho mantis, or in mgs 2 when the colonel starts going crazy.

conkers bad fur day is above all else, though.

I thought Super Metroid for SNES was pretty awesome. I currently play command and conquer generals with a degree of regularity.

Halo is not the best game in the world by far. However, it does what it does well. It has a solid story with multiple layers, great gameplay, and good graphics. It's a very solid shooter.

I think Halo is the best game on the current consoles. The best game in the world (in my opinion) was Super Mario RPG for the SNES. Just to get this out of the way, I hated Chrono Trigger.

I still play my SNES a lot. I play Halo much more than I do any of my games on the SNES, though.

I remember the old my n64 has 64 bits and your playstation only has 32, or was it 16, i cant remember..... Duke Nukem, o man, i played that for hours on end. Conkers, the different multiplayer games were so cool. Heist and the Refugee, hehe. Ummm and I'd also have to say Ninja Turtles on the regular nintendo, does that make me a dork?

Carmagedon 2, an extremely flexible game. Insanely fun to just mess around.

I'd have to go with Halo or Counter Strike CZ. Halo because of the "AI" but I also like CSCZ because the bots made it more interesting. Perfect Dark for the N64 was great too, with the bots and game modes.

Well, I would contest that Halo is the best game ever. Honestly though, it doesn't matter, because everyone can see the all time great games, but when it comes down from dividing the ones ranked number one and number two, it really doesn't matter.

I loved Halo because of it's balance. And it's AI. Plus the story held me captive, and still does. It's just a classic storytelling of a much loved theme. The world had forgotten good Sci-Fi, and I think Halo has made great leaps forward to bringing us back to classic science fiction. (Seen me at the Endiku thread? I really get into that stuff) And who doesn't love 16 player multiplayer action. Especially when you have two super balanced teams.

But I'm not just about Halo. There's been games that I've loved just as much, or maybe just a little bit less. I can't tell.

Half-Life. Revolutionized FPS genre. It's a lot like Halo, I thought.

Knights of the Old Republic. Storytelling at it's best. Bioware gameplay is decent, but this is honestly the best story I've ever seen. That's the selling point for me. You get so lost in it, that you forget about the combat system, and only remember the really great parts.

Final Fanstasy III. I love this game. One of my first rpg's. A story I really got into, just because I love the epic stuff.

Final Fantasy VII. My first rpg. I love the story. Plus I was caught up in the magic of role playing games. Cloud is cool. Materia is cool. Omni-slashis cool. Knights of the Round is cool.

Morrowind. Super open ended rpg. You can do whatever you want. Just like real life, except I was big and strong and the master of the thieves guild, so I could get away with murder. 200+ hours of gameplay. What's not to love? Especially with the expansions.

Golden Eye. You know, before Bond games sucked. Saved the FPS genre on consoles. A tad unbalanced, though.

GTA. Fun, and original. Violent, and pretty cool story. User friendly controls and gameplays.

There. My best of the best list. But before I go, let me just mention one other game, because it deserves mention: Tetris. Self-Explanatory. You all know the love of Tetris.

Kotor kicked serious ass. I played that game a gazillion times (Yes, it's a number, you just can't count that high!) and I still enjoy cutting Carth down to size.
