he's better all round than N6

Play one level with Jorge and say that again.

From a canon point of view.
still an invalid argument, spartan III's and spartan II's are nearly identical, jorge wouldn't have been any better suited than 6 was for the following events.

That possibility ruled out when it turned out Spartan-117 was neither the best, nor the most effective Spartan-II.
Source?

He is started to be neither the Smartest, Fastest, or Strongest Spartan. Halsey considers him the best, but he is a team leader. They are at their best when in a squad, not alone.

Even from that stand-point, 6 was far more skilled and useful than Jorge. That's why he's a "hyper lethal vector," and Jorge is not. You've probably read that file from before game release about him making entire organizations disappear. Even outside of game play, Noble 6 was one of the best Spartans.

Hah. A mere trailer does not beat what the books have to say.

For once, we agree.

Thus, that trailer about NS being "supah killah" is obsolete.

my theories on wat happened to the ship are these
one the ships mid section is teleported to some other corner of the galaxy and a explotions (caused by all the damage) destroy most of the ship jorge and some of the ships POSIBLY get in escape pods banshees phantoms etc and escape
two the slipspace bomb is wired to do some thing similar to regrets ship when it left new mombasa and destroyed everthing around it nothing but six and a few marines survive

Jorge wanted to save Reach, he thought that by destroying the Super Carrier he'd save Reach.

He didn't know that there were more Carriers on the way.

"Were it so easy"

well i disagree Jorge knew the risks of the mission he was willing to go in no matters the risks, he gave his life for Reach and he thought he gave his life knowing the turned the tide of the war, but its not so simple is it? but 6 had more capabilities than Jorge had not to disown Jorge but i honor Jorge and what he did, and the big man was sentimental

Live to fight another day.

Mendez told them.

Except it was never ruled out. It's the truth.

Why? Because the player is in control.

Had we controlled a different SPARTAN through the Halo trilogy, that SPARTAN would have had that rating. If we played as someone else on Noble Team, they also would have had that rating. It's a way of telling the player that "Hey, there's really no difference."

Plus look at what Chief was able to do. Sure, he had a bit of luck but still. That's pretty damn amazing.

Which doesn't change anything. You can back peddle all you want, but Game canon>Book canon. Bungie has said it themselves.

Ignoring things doesn't make them go away. But if you'd like to take the "ignorance is bliss," approach, by all means.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

It's not in the nature of a Spartan-II to have someone else die for them. Spartan-IIs are much more...honorable...than that. A S-II would die for another before they let someone else die for them. So Jorge would have refused. Notice how he had to pick up Noble 6 and throw him out the freaking window.

Plus Jorge wanted to because he thought sacrificing himself would save Reach, which it did. For about five minutes.
Just thought I'd bring this back in case you missed it. Pretty much explains the entire reasoning.

But it was pretty much assumed that the other SPARTAN who carried that rating was S-117.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

That would have been a short game then.

He has luck, and was a good leader.

Those were his two main traits.

And both Halsey and Cortana, perhaps the two most intelligent entities in the UNSC, considered him the "best" overall for his traits.

So yeah, he was the best.
