^^^this. I love the books, but I always just consider the games to be canon. I've heard there's a "Halo Bible" somewhere in Bungie that was contradicted, but whatever.

Nobody(Outside of 343/Bungie employees and authors) has seen the Halo Story Bible, so saying it's been contradicted can't be proven.

^^^ Thank you!

No Jorge didn't die he ended up like MC and end up across the galaxy

I agree. Alot of people don't realize that they simply created a Slipspace portal. Half of the ship was transported somewhere else in the Galaxy. He may not have survived the transportation considering what modern-day scientists believe about wormholes/the fact the ship was tore in half/he took off his helmet.

It did teleport the chunk of the super-carrier, but from what I noticed of the portal was that is started in the hanger of the Corvette, then expanded outwards. Meaning the corvette would have been inverted.

If only he didn't take off his helmet...
*sigh, sudden manual activation with sudden last minute activation, with sudden all marines are dead...

Or have Auntie-Dot clone and fragment herself so the clone can detonate the bomb manually, detach bomb from the pelican and fly the hell out of there.

Auntie Dot wasn't with Jorge. Not only that, there is no way she can close herself like Cortana is capable of since Auntie Dot is a "dumb" AI.

That attribute is far from her grasp.

And also:

It's not in the nature of a Spartan-II to have someone else die for them. Spartan-IIs are much more...honorable...than that. A S-II would die for another before they let someone else die for them. So Jorge would have refused. Notice how he had to pick up Noble 6 and throw him out the freaking window.

Plus Jorge wanted to because he thought sacrificing himself would save Reach, which it did. For about five minutes.

If you good enough in the level you can save the marines, why cant they detonate the bomb, such a waste.

SO TRUE!
And they're stupid enough to believe it remote detonates.

Such a pity, now Jorge is lost in Oblivion, possibly gathering sigil stones.

Because in cutscene they are dead, and if Elites swarmed the hanger after Six left, the marine would die before being able to activate it.

Do you know what kind of hat I'm wearing?

A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.

Prepare to die.

Play one level with Jorge and say that again.

From a canon point of view.

Halsey said in one of the trailers that there was only 1 Spartan better than Noble Six, and we all know who she's talking about. Just because SIIIs are generally not as effective as SIIs, that doesn't mean that there can't be exceptions, with Noble Six being the case here.

Huh, I know you aren't dissing Six, but I'm just saying I just remember her saying there was only one other Hyper-lethal Spartan. That other Spartan was NEVER named in any material...

But anyone with half a brain would be able to work out she's referring to John.

Leader of the Deadly Viper Squad

Good point, S-IIIs were designed to be expendable, whilst the S-IIs were not.

Really? Cause I'm going off of what I've seen of John (not gameplay.) Sure he was impressive, but not as a Spartan. To me nothing really screamed he was incredibly dangerous alone(More so then another Spartan).

Even then hyper lethal is a vague term.

By 2552 he'd been awarded every medal for his service in the UNSC, except for the one for being a POW. That alone demonstrates his achievements.

And proof other Spartans didn't receive the same medals? Proof Master Chief was the ONLY Spartan to receive all those models? The only time it's referenced is when Halsey is describing John to Cortana.

Haha, exactly, you can just tell by the way Halsey says it. It should be PAINFULLY obvious that Halsey is talking about the Chief.

So are you going to skip over answering which Spartan is more impressive than the Chief to be considered more "dangerous alone" or you going to just say that because they're not mentioned it automatically doesn't rule anyone else out? Stating that John is not impressive by Spartan standards would mean that there would be some established precedence in which there is currently proof to back up your earlier statement. As of now, John is the only Spartan who has demonstrated a high level of combat proficiency in a multitude of scenarios operating as the sole Spartan either completely alone or backed up by regular military units.

Noble Six, destroying entire rebel bases alone.

Linda, lone wolf Spartan and excellent sniper, works very well alone.

To add on to my previous statement about the medals, anybody with half a brain would notice Master Chief was a team leader (Aka, at their best leading a team. Master Chief being alone through the halo trilogy and not leading a squad of Spartans puts him out of his specialty.)

His deployment record, as he was a team leader, is now shared by at least 3, maybe more, Spartans. He would get his medals from these missions correct? Thus the other Spartans in his squad would most likely get similar medals. His medal chest is shared with a few other spartans.

Master Chief did impressive things. However, any other Spartan could have done those things given the same gear and support. Saying otherwise is foolish. Some (Linda or Six for example) would do better as they are used to working alone. Others might do worse. All Spartans are excellent in every field. They shine however, in their specialty. Chief's was being a leader. Fighting alone forces him out of it.

Jorge has the best AI in the campaign. Also he is the best developed character.

He should have lived, Jun is a good character, but not as valuble as Jorge.

Jorge + Master Chief = auto win

There's no question of Noble Six's lethality. He/She has already been outright stated as being one of the hyper lethal vectors. The question at hand is if John is the "other" hyper lethal vector. Also...

Read my previous post closely. A spartan that excels alone in a variety of situations. Everyone knows that Linda is the best sniper and that she works alone as a sniper. But that hardly topples over strongholds or guarantee success against an enemy in close quarter situations like the Flood. Furthermore while she snipes alone, it's in support of the rest of the squad she's working with. There has been no instance where Linda was actually forced to fight truly alone against the enemy.

John is the only Spartan to be shown actually operating in several combat situations without support from other Spartans. Where then are there instances of Spartans excelling in the field by themselves when they're always being deployed in squads otherwise? The only known Spartan II exception was Sheila who was acting as Halsey's sole personal bodyguard, and she ended up dead in that particular line of duty.

From a canon point of view.

Jorge thought what he was doing was going to save Reach. Not only that, but Jorge has been in the war longer then Noble 6 had been. SPARTAN-III's are a lot younger than most SPARTAN-II's. Probably, in Jorge's head, he just didn't want it anymore. And he thought the sacrifice of his life would save millions of others.

Jorge displayed utter incompetence when he said he would save Reach from the Covenant by blowing up ONE supercarrier. That's not how a Spartan thinks, especially a grade two.

Tell that to Thom, the original Six, or Kurt and Sam...

Sam couldn't leave the Covenant ship. His suit was holed. He had no way out.

Actually, blowing the up super carrier would have saved Reach, at least for the moment.

It was the only main threat at the time, after it was destroyed the other elements could be dealt with ease.

However, the whole thing was a bait trap. They destroyed the spire and the super carrier arrived. They destroyed the carrier and the first fleet arrived.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

Actually, 6 has the same amount of skill and power as Master Chief, so he WAS the more valuable asset.

BTW, here is a funny version of his death scene

"Bomb is hit 6"

"Yeah, but I can fix it"

"I have to sacrifice myself"

"No, no you don't. The switch just is broken, easy fix"

"Reach has been good to me, time to return the favor"

"What the hell are you talking Jorge?! And where the hell is that music coming from?!"

"Tell them to make it count."

"Hey man what the hell do you think you're doing?! You're invading my personal spa-AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
