Why would you want yourself to die?

Also, Jorge was a fatty, he deserved to die.

But it was pretty much assumed that the other SPARTAN who carried that rating was S-117.

That possibility ruled out when it turned out Spartan-117 was neither the best, nor the most effective Spartan-II.

As far as 99% of the Halo Fanbase is concerned, its 117.

From a canon point of view.

Jorge thought what he was doing was going to save Reach. Not only that, but Jorge has been in the war longer then Noble 6 had been. SPARTAN-III's are a lot younger than most SPARTAN-II's. Probably, in Jorge's head, he just didn't want it anymore. And he thought the sacrifice of his life would save millions of others.

Jorge displayed utter incompetence when he said he would save Reach from the Covenant by blowing up ONE supercarrier. That's not how a Spartan thinks, especially a grade two.

Tell that to Thom, the original Six, or Kurt and Sam...

Sam couldn't leave the Covenant ship. His suit was holed. He had no way out.

Actually, blowing the up super carrier would have saved Reach, at least for the moment.

It was the only main threat at the time, after it was destroyed the other elements could be dealt with ease.

However, the whole thing was a bait trap. They destroyed the spire and the super carrier arrived. They destroyed the carrier and the first fleet arrived.

That wasn't bait trap.

I really do not understand what is wrong with my posts, could you please explain?

The term "Hyper Lethal" is just another way Bungie are talking about YOU, the player.

Spartan 3s are not even close to the training and combat experience of the Spartan 2s. I'm talking about this from a CANON stand point. Spartan 2s are way more of an asset to the UNSC than a Spartan 3.

And the way Jorge sacrificed himself was stupid. 6 should have detonated the bomb because Jorge was a bigger player in Noble team and for humanity in general. The death of Jorge wasn't logical.

Or maybe Jorge was tired of life and wanted to kill himself, but that's BS.

I'm not commenting on the first bit, it's not worth arguing it with someone who won't be convinced.

There is virtually no difference between an SII's skill and effectiveness and an SIII's, they are almost exactly the same. The only thing setting the SIIs apart in any way is that they have much more experience than the IIIs and better armor. Set a II and a III in a fight mano-a-mano and it would a toss up as to who would win the fight. The two are evenly matched.

Jorge may have cost more than Six, but Six was infinitely better than Jorge. Six is the only other Hyper Lethal Vector documented besides Master Chief, and Six has completely destroyed Insurrectionist operations single-handedly.

Because of the plot, bungie doesn't wants to kill the main character in half of the game.

Not to mention,Jorge hasn't the re-entry pack.

@ordered coma

The SII also had their genetic thing, which places them above all Humans.

*Sigh* And the SIII also had a genetic requirement. Guess what? All the ones pulled out matched the S2 requirements.

Yeah, but then the game would only have 5 levels. Besides, Jorge thought he was giving his life for his home. He was under the impression that killing the Supercarrier would allow the UNSC to win at Reach. Then Thel' Vadam and the Fleet of Particular Justice showed up...

Actually, they didn't show up until the 30th. Another group showed up soon after the carrier was killed.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

There is so much misinformation in this thread I think I may puke.

- SPARTAN III's are better as a team, to make up for their "cheapness" they team up.

- John-117 is the best SPARTAN. That has been confirmed numerous times.

- Jorge chose to stay because he did. Don't question it.

I find this funny.

Why?

Jorge is a Spartan 2, he's better all round than N6 and a lot more of a valuable asset than a S3. The death of Jorge really didn't make sense. Jorge detonating the bomb didn't make sense, 6 should have done it.
Because Jorge SUCKS!

As a team, they can be better then a S2 team. Alone it's much the same given same equipment.

- John-117 is the best SPARTAN. That has been confirmed numerous times.

False. He has been Confirmed to be not the strongest, smartest, fastest. He had luck, and was a team leader. He was not the best.

- Jorge chose to stay because he did. Don't question it.

True on this.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

People are so ignorant nowadays, it's obvious that the other Hyper-lethal Vector is Spartan 1337.....

Huh? Jorge picked you up and THREW you out of the ship.

Doesn't matter who should have died, there was nothing you could do about it.

  • 04.22.2011 3:56 PM PDT

Jorge isn't a very smart person overall, you see. He wastes his incredible strength and agility to limp around with a gargantuan machine gun and an ammo backpack when he instead could've been running around using more effective weapons and making use of his deadly strikes like the Chief. He also sacrifices himself to shield a worthless civilian (compared to him), luckily the silly and drunk Field Marshall is horrible with the Energy Sword and misses everything. He then finally drops his gun, but uses his strength to throw Six off the boat and then commits suicide.

The chaingun is good for surpessive fire, but Jorge using it is idiotic from a strategic point of view. It also sucks in the combat situations Noble Team get in.

Play one level with Jorge and say that again.

From a canon point of view.

Uhm, hyper-lethal anyone?
Six is superior to most S2s, only some of Chief's group are actually better.

This again?

*Explosive sigh*

I thought there was this huge thread about how Spartan III's were equal or even better than Spartan II's.

To all those who think Jorge miraculously teleported to god knows where, if he survived the slipspace explosion and actually went somewhere the conflicting pressures and extreme temps would cause his exposed head to tear apart into shards of glass-like ice.

Don't forget about the countless amounts of radiation he would had received when the slip-space bomb activated.

And you know, the slipspace bubble formed inside the ship, not infront of it. Meaning the hanger bay went in before the outer hull = inverted ship.

John may not be the best at one particular thing, (besides a team leader)but he is a jack of all trades being one of the best in most areas. Linda would not be as good in CQC, Kelly wouldn't perform as well at sniping, Jorge wouldn't be as fast, etc. plus john has luck
