Subject: Why didn't the people of Harvest consult the other human planets?

They found aliens. ALIENS. A BFD.

Why did they not alert any other human colonies? Or earth, or anything?

Or did they?

Can any answer this question?

Inside another dead body. It's the last place they'll look
A corpse within a corpse.
CORPSEPTION.
Win.

Because it wasn't the inhabitants of Harvest themselves who discovered the Covenant, it was UNSC (and ONI) military personnel who were stationed there for various reasons who made the discovery.

Thus it was very easy to keep the information from the public.
A reason why they wouldn't is the nearest human colony would have been Madrigal, which is hardly a Naval power centre for the UNSC. Reinforcements from Reach would have taken months to muster, and they weren't after a war by that stage.

Yeah, I meant the UNSC of Harvest.

But the second paragraph clears it up. I was wondering why they couldn't send reinforcements. But did the ONI and operatives from other planets know? Just not the UNSC and people?

Thanks!

Also, Why couldn't they slip space next to the ship and attack it? (after they had basically declared war on eachother)

Also: SPOILERS! Read it if you have read Contact Harvest:

I thought Sif died? I thought all of her components (tiara) were shot down by the mac blast? How come in the end of the book she is listening (or rather, trying not to listen) to Mack?

It is noted in contact harvest that it takes weeks or more to travel any significant distance through slipspace.

And you can imagine the distance from one habitable planet to another would be lightyears.

OP I think you may have misread that. Sif may have went rampant, however, Mack fired a "MAC" round but it was not at the tiara. Johnson and his squad fought there for a prolonged period of time, the carts passed though it on numerous occasions, the Tiara was very much intact during Harvest's evacuation.

Because Harvest was the outer-most colony. Any call for help would have been unanswered in time to make a difference, that's why they used the cargo containers to evac the planet population.

Yes, but after the evacuation was complete, Mack fired a second round at the Tiara, denying Sif to the Covenant, and preventing their forces there from mustering after the escape vehicles.
OP, in the end of the book it is Mack pining for Sif.
