Are you saying more were sent out today, or they will be in the near future?

Any clue as to how many more/when the next ones will be?

Is there any chance that you can give us an idea of when the next salvo will occur? :)

The Joyeuse IP Formula

If it meant enough to someone, then they have every right to complain. I guess for some, people really wanted to get in on the action. I don't think that it's right to belittle people who voice their discontent over this. Because you may find it trivial, others might not.
Posted by: Raaascal
The word fuss shouldn't even be incorporated with this at all.

People shouldn't get upset, because they didn't get selected, nor should people brag if they did. I am not saying that anyone is bragging, but several have been complaining.

As I said before, relax. It's not a big deal. If you don't get picked, do not let it get you down. If you do, you'll end up complaining, and if it isn't random, they are probably less inclined to select you.

That's just my opinion though. I personally wouldn't want to select someone out of pity.

The bottom line is that people need to stop fretting over such trivial matters as not being selected to be a beta tester. One, there is always another chance in the future. Two, it really isn't something you should let bug you for the rest of your life.

If you are honestly going to get upset over not being selected, shut off your computer for awhile, get your priorities straight, and return when you have realized that the internet, and video games are not everything.

Note, I am not trying to be rude towards anyone. I am simply letting you know that it's okay if you did not selected. Don't freak out if you don't, and don't become an egomaniac if you do.

;-)

Wish they would give some info on their procedures and have given us some warning last friday, before this happened. Otherwise something like this probably wouldn't be as big a fuss

God dang, man. You really don't seem to understand. It's not that big of a deal, or at least it shouldn't be.

Don't get mad if you don't get selected. You say. "....and not anyone else is kinda discarding alot of community members... :("

Please do not deny the fact that you are talking about yourself. I realize that you want to be a beta tester, but if you are not selected to become one, there is obviously a reason, and the best thing to do is just let it go.

:-)

As much as Rascal just sugar coated it, he's right. Obviously they have a method to choosing who gets what, even if that means randomized selection. And if you don't like it, you're in no position to complain. You didn't pay for anything, you're not entitled to anything. Get over it.

Why not?!?

anyway, it would be nice to be a Bungie tester but only selecting the oldest members and not anyone else is kinda discarding alot of community members... :(

Which in no way is fair; if that is true, it would be even more upsetting...

I assume from your posts that you infact got an invite or simply don't care...

Yes, I really want to be a Bungie beta tester and I am a loyal fan on the community, along with many other fans...

But to be not given a chance just because I am shy a few years doesn't make me any less of a fan or wanting to be included...

It is natural being involved here so much to be angry about not getting an invite...

Think about it, there's A LOT of users on this website, and many many thousands of them which are long-time loyal Bungie fans that's been here since Halo 1. Let's say that they all have what it takes to become a Bungie tester, yet only a few of them gets selected. That's because there are so many in this community to choose between. Now imagine this exact thing, but with the active members that's been here since Halo 3/Reach, which would be hundreds of thousands if not a million. What do you think the chances are of becoming a Bungie tester among them? Very, very low...

Don't get upset because you didn't get chosen. Bungie don't have unlimited Beta tester slots, thus they have to pick carefully.

Salvo?

*Looks up Salvo in dictionary*

Salvo: Noun - a simultaneous discharge of artillery or other guns in battle

That can't possibly be what he meant....or....no, never mind.

On a more serious note, good luck to you all.

I just thought of something... :D

If the next game is rated 17+, then Bungie won't be able to offer the beta to persons under 17 years of age, am I right?

Awesome.

Well, I don't know any countries where you legally are not allowed to play certain games depending on rateing. In some you cannot legally be sold a game that has a certain rateing, but you can still play it.

Even then, many countries don't even have that. Here in the US, you can technically be sold a M rated game no matter what the age, but many stores self regulate.

I'm sure Bungie will shread more light into purpose in the near future. My guess is all old/active members have top priority to whatever the testing involves (which makes perfect sense).

Per Audacia Ad Astra!

I'm wondering about something is the Bungie Beta will be available on a single platform? (360 obviously). We know the game is supposed to be release on PC and PS3 too, and for people who don't play usually on Live this could be difficult,i hope there will be a PC and PS3 wave (i don't have live ouch).

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Perfect sense would be to give the invites to those who actually play Reach and Bungies other games (the ones they can track). As far as I'm concerned the Mythics are the ones that play their games the least.

I agree with this also, I play Halo Reach and Halo 3 alot and I am active on the forums pretty much everyday, I hope I get one...

But yeah, I also think the the older members should get invites but so should a variety of Bungie.net users...

Mythics like to hang around the forums and chat. Although I cannot speak for all Mythics, I think I've played a fair amount of Halo throughout the years plus remained an frequent forum user. Remember nobody knows what Bungie will actually be testing, and it seems their inviting their most loyal and dedicated fans first.

Yep, but just because we weren't here a few years ago doesn't mean we aren't loyal fans...

I honestly don't see what all the fuss is about.

It's not an invitation, you're not recieving some special code.

It's a survey.

They are probably just getting some information about their potential playerbase of testers, as I stated earlier.

That, and as stated earlier by urk, this email's were only the first wave in a multitude, and if evidence suggests, the system is not based on account age (as there are super old, super active members who haven't recieved one yet).

I did, but I have a feeling they check your background before sending the survey. The one for my main tag is not even a year old.
