"You dead yet? No? You will be!"

"How you like them pears? Guess what I mean by pears."

"I'm gonna rip off his partridge and kick him in the pear tree!"

I decided to make a teaser transmission about a Halo fan fiction I might write. So I did. And this is what I got.

I have seen you future

I think you are confused about the difference between "Halo novel" and fanfic.

Unless 343i says you can write an official Halo novel, it is considered fan fiction and is non-canon and definitely isn't promoted a year away from release. It also isn't published into a book.

If he's promoting his work a year ahead of release, then it would indeed be "promoted a year away from release." Just because it's not official or published doesn't necessarily make it not a novel either. Yes, it would certainly be fan fiction, but if it is larger than a short story, then it would certainly be an unpublished novel.

Yeah, pretty much. Anything typically over 100,000 words is considered a novel. Fan-fiction or not. Anything smaller is a novella, really.
