its not about size, its about how many pixels you've got

I would like to see ODST 2 take place on Reach so we can play out the events there as Buck.

maybe span few different planets but end in new Alexandria as buck or part of his squad.

My idea is this:

You are a squad leader of an ODST battalion and you hand pick your team for dangerous missions through out the halo universe from the Fall of Harvest to the Halo Event. Your troops can be KIA and you need to help prepare them with their combat prowess so you are not fighting with Green recruits....

Wait, I'm not the only ODST fan? YESSSS

Can someone explain this to me so that it makes some goddamned sense?

-Dual Wield
-New Covenant vehicle(s); Vampire, Shielded Wraith, Locust, Shielded Ghost
-New UNSC vehicle(s); Cobra, Wolverine, Hawk
-Jet Pack (could be awesome for exploring)
-Less kill barriers (think: Halo 2)
-First Person Shooting from the side of a Hornet/Hawk

Can't be too careful with your company. I can feel the devil walking next to me.

If VISR is redone, it needs to work like the Camo AA. As you use it, it drains energy.

I'd prefer not to have a full MM in ODST, but that's just my Opinion. Although the Invasion gametype sounds sick.

Good Ideas OP.

loved the feel of odst and would love to see another! i was more enthused to write story and gameplay ideas for this than i thought... haha

i think the player's main character should be a single odst who's repeatedly seeing most of his team mates go down. maybe he/she even has to take a number of them down, himself, when they get flood infected. that'd make for a mean end to a dramatic level.

i would have the first few levels be on earth or a similar human planet under invasion circumstances of some sort. you would drop in, ofcourse. i'm thinking start in a big city similar to new mombossa. one that also has an AI. keep it tight with some of the great fiction that's already been done through the series and it would please many. :P anyway, perhaps you're on a mission to help evacuate some very important people / things out of an invaded city in complete chaos, making your way to some kind of rally point somewhere off in the wild outskirts. (forested mountain top at night time?) the abilities of the AI in your VISR could kind of slowly lose some functions bit by bit the further from the AI's proximity you advanced, leaving you in a bit of a horror themed night mission... perhaps the invading species was a surviving bit of the flood, making things dark and creepy hehe. imagine seeing the moment a small army of flood impacted and began to spread through-out a massive city as you frantically try to fight your way through and escape. soo many unsuspecting civilians for the flood to feast and grow upon. mmmm <3

the more wilderness/horror type mission could end in most of the civilians you tried so hard to save turning to flood themselves in an epic battleground designed for just that... a mountain top base that the odst's have been told to re-assume control of in order to make their escape. perhaps it's even a pretty rural kind of base (national park, conservation area, etc), but luckily has an aircraft that the odst's can use to escape. hmm... a few various flood/wild-life creatures could make appearances... flood bears, wolves, bats, hawks? haha depending on where in the world, this could get interesting and crazy.

with halo 3 leaving the chief and cortana in far off space with a distress signal going... i think it'd be sweet to have the odst's go spaceward amoung the rest of a massive crew of a battle cruiser making way towards the distress signal. upon getting there, they discover cortana but not the master chief (who's capsule has gone missing entirely.) cortana becomes the new AI working through the VISR and guides the odst's to a new forerunner world in search of the chief's captors / trail.. this forerunner world would have to be of considerable importance. something that would attract the remnants of the covenant and their ideals of reviving the great journey. interesting things to be found throughout the forerunner world could revolve around the forerunners, themselves. glimpses of what life was like for them leading up to the initial firing of the rings. potential here is great.

to stay very true to the mission stylings of ODST, there could be clues left behind by the master chief or maybe even the elites (bring the arbiter into the equation?) that would bring up side-missions where the player could assume control of the chief or the arbiter. perhaps depending on what kind of clue you found, you could go off on various missions from different POV's. if the elites are involved, perhaps it turns out that as the arbiter, there is a mission where you rescue the master chief... later leading to a mission where the 2 of them epicly destroy a massive army together... maybe that's precisely when all of the POV's could catch up. including you as the ODST character... somehow incredibly out-performing the 2 of them. yesssss. haha.

most important to me, is retaining that awesome dark, knowing that you're massively outnumbered, human and fragile feel of ODST and throwing in the awe of a massive alien world. cortana (or another ai) having access to the structures you explore and providing many similar and new functions similar to those of the AI in new mombossa. with some laid-back freedom to explore and discover some very interesting side stories, etc, aswell.~

whew... cutting myself off... dear bungie: hire me? <3 haha i suppose i'd be looking in the wrong place now, though. :(

ODST's shouldn't be able to take more damage than Spartan II's.

Seriously, two Beam Rifle shots kill whereas in Halo 3 it's one, on Legendary anyway.

Why would we go back into Mombasa? That's been done, and going back would seem like a cheesy money grab tactic.

Why not go somewhere new? Operations on Reach? What about just ODST's throughout the war, similar to Call of Duty 1 and 2?

What about if we just followed the original ODST squad through the rest of the war? I'd like that. They could to covert, silent ops against the Covenant, and maybe we'd have actual steath, not just silent weapons that still alert guards.

A MAN CHOOSES, A SLAVE OBEYS.

I want a new cast of characters a new city and a new story and a new multiplayerzz.

  • 03.15.2011 11:57 AM PDT

If you strike me down now I shall become more powerful than Nobel Six can even imagine. (Clears through) *master chief*

Well i think that they were the only ODST's to go to new Mombasa. They went for Dare's secret mission. So oh well.

GOAT! Why are YOU always the one with the epic win ideas that people love?

I'd like a Firefight mode, where you get AI reinforcements (marines AI odst's, and extra weapons drops/vehicles)
and to counter that, there are more enemies

NO FLOOD! NO FLOOD! NO FLOOD! Bungie needs to pull a George Lucas and Ban THE FLOOD FROM FURTHER HALO CANON!

Reverse Firefight, play as an elite against Brutes (non-canon) Marines, Army Troopers, ODST, Spartan IIs and Spartan IIIs.
i do agree that it should be a new playable character but bring back a character like buck or dutch in order to ground this game in the existing universe.

add AI to forge, like marines, and gaurds that you can set a guard path to, and you can control what wepon it has, and who it fires at.
GREAT FOR MICHINIMAS or invasion
