fully controllable drop pods and fully customizable O.D.S.T like helmet attachments, those shoulder pads like (Micky and Romeo) and knee pads would be great (that would be great for the armor). The physical features like height, build, sex and face (like eyes, bread, mo, hair, shape of face, color and voice (that if you wanted them him or her to speak). As long as we get these ill be happy.

Ok, I've read the topic and here are my ideas:

1. VISR would not have the extra modes.
2. Skulls would return as they were in Halo 2 and 3.
3. New skull that replaces your VISR with a flashlight.
4. The side story thing would be told through footage from security monitors around the city.
5. Armour customization like in Reach, but limited to ODST style stuff, and unlocked like in Halo 3 (no cR).
6. No attachments for the weapons/ variations of the weapons.
7. The silenced SMG and Magnum would return and enemies would actually react like they were silenced.
8. You always have sprint.
9. No reticle bloom.
10. Civilian vehicles can be driven, but are defenseless and weak.
11. Firefight matchmaking.
12. More maps for Firefight.
13. Higher amount of customization (being able to choose rank of enemies, what weapons they have, etc).
14. Just like before, the maps should be found around the city.
15. Side missions around the city, like in the mission New Alexandria. Like say, you're going down a road, you see some civilians and some covenant approaching them, you can save them, call an evac for them and defend them till a pelican arrives or something.
16. Firefight forging. If not the full forging like Forge World, than just the normal kind, editing spawns, generators, ammo boxes and weapon drop locations, etc.
17. Return of Firefight versus and Generator Defense.
18. Brutes not playable.
19. Maybe new Firefight modes.
20. Assassinations return.
21. A new mode that's some where in between Firefight Versus and Multiplayer. In this mode, it'd be almost like Firefight versus in the sense that you have AI fighting with you, but both sides have the AI. With smart AI, it'd be very interesting to play.
22. Return of Invasion.
23. Multiplayer. Plays basically like any other Halo's Multiplayer.
24. Customs, Theater and Forge return.

I think I've covered all of what I thought up, sorry for the big post.

EDIT: Oh and is that Battle Bro mode like Spec Ops for MW2? If so, I'm all for it.

i would rekon the different types of night vision and sprinting + evading would be contrilled by the d-pad.

I feel an ODST game would be perfect for something like Harvest or Earth. Heck even maybe on a Halo.

  • 03.20.2011 7:06 PM PDT

As the planet burns, and the sky darkens, always remember what sacrifices we made, so that you could live on~ SovietPath

Good idea, but ODST was kinda like.. what. A dlc for Halo 3? In a way?

This game would have to be it's own game, with it's own story.
Bumping for awesomeness

  • 03.20.2011 7:23 PM PDT

You get to play as Rookie in the battle of New Jerusalem.

  • 03.20.2011 8:45 PM PDT

I like the whole idea but i think they should have the master chief, i mean some one said a multi planet game theme.

They could ensure each others missions and stuff....

Ability to wield 3 weapons, could be change in the custom settings like "side arms only", "DMR only" etc.

Being able to have 20 players online multiplayer with an ODST twist, that way invasion could feel a bit bigger as well as competetive firefight.

Weapon upgrade pickups, you could find stuff like silencers and such throughout the city, most guns could be silenced.

Pro-pipe and other reach weapons should be added.

Forge mode with forge firefight as well.

Server browser for custom games and firefight.

Would be kinda cool to see some remote dtonated explosives other than the propipe, like c6 or whatever they use in halos timeperiod.

Map should be viewed via a screen you have on your arm âla Fallout, wouldn't really be neccesary but would be a nice touch.

Keep the sitches, they could make for some interesting gameplay.

Motorcyces as well as moongeese.

Ability to call in other ODSTs as well as warthogs and such?

Flyable pelican and phantom.

Having an armor system as well as a health one, once the armor breaks you would need to find more, armor shards can be replaced but if the armor breaks fully then you would need to find some new.

Engineer shards could bring you overshield but there wouldn't be engineer armor in the game (except for customs and such.)

Improve stealth gameplay, the enemies are getting alerted way to easily.

I feel that in ODST you needed to scavenge for human weapons and ammo, as well as health packs, I hope this could be further explored in the sequel (if there is one.)

Sorry if these are poorly written, it's getting late and english is not my primary language.

If there was to be a multiplayer gametype in ODST 2, I would like to be able to steer a drop pod onto the battlefield.

Armour customization affects certain aspects of your character (ex. Micky's shotgun shell leg strap allows you to carry more ammo for the shotgun, but her runs a little bit slower[I know that's unrealistic with a few shotgun shells slow down movement but it's just an idea], studs on the ODST's gloves could add a bonus to your melee attack but make your reload a little bit slower, ect.), and if there was a multiplayer mode, I'm not sure if this should be used in it, but if it was used in the game, at the very least I'd like it to appear in firefight and campaign.

And since Reach wasn't fully explored in Halo: Reach, I'm thinking something could happen there.

Also, first-person driving, at least for ground vehicles(I think piloting aircraft in first-person would be a little too difficult), as it would add to your sense of vulnerability while driving and such.

Also being able to hot-wire abandoned cars and such(or something different if security is incredibly amazing) as ODSTs would have a greater use for it than spartans would have(especially in the case of The Rookie in ODST[I'm not trying to turn this into GTA]). And since spartans where taken away around the age of six, they wouldn't have really been able to learn how to hot-wire cars, where as ODSTs might have had the knowledge prior to their involvement in The Human-Covenant War. This would also add some sort of mini-game I guess, to ODST 2.

The ability to go prone: ODSTs require stealth far more often than spartans, especially since they lack energy shields.

Also, The covenant infantry should have some sort of night-mode for their armour and weapons so that they're harder to spot at night, as it doesn't make sense for your enemies to look like a Christmas tree at night.

And if the ODSTs in the story were issued combat knives, I think that if we ran out of ammo for our guns we should be able to pull out our knives, although this might ruin the feeling like you have to grab what ever you can find when you run out of ammo. I also don't want Halo to turn in CoD.

The silencers also didn't seem to do much in ODST, I think that they should either have some sort of affect or just take them out.

Quickdraws: since ODSTs will sometimes need to trade speed for stealth, and therefore can't always use jetpacks on a mission, it would make sense for them to have quickdraws, now although quickdraws are climbing equipment, I think that they should be used for something else. Above I mentioned hot-wiring cars, and I think we all remember Jorge from Halo: Reach climbing on the back of that truck and firing away with his turret. The thing was we couldn't do the same thing, now I think quickdraws should be used by ODSTs to hook themselves to the back of civilian vehicles, and thus be able to fire away with whatever weapon they have.

Piloting aircraft in first person is actually rather easy, but I agree on your ideas, falcon should be added as well without roll stabilizer so we could do barrel rolls.

I see, I haven't played an aerial combat game in first person yet, but I was thinking that there where more directions to be snuck up from as you have more air time with planes and such. But I don't entirely agree with the role stabilizer as being upside-down in a helicopter-ish aircraft is somewhat dangerous, although I do think that we should be able to do turns at steeper diagonal angles.

Sounds great. I think it should be about Buck's squad during Reach. They plot should intertwine with Reach's plot. For example maybe Buck and the rest of the squad destroy a phantom which houses the elite that killed Kat. They should also meet up with Jun and find out what happened to him. Also I would like to know how Buck got the planet exactly.
Yes.

I concur.

It would be kinda impossible to fly upside down, but you can still do barrel rolls like in real life , maybe they could have it as an option in the flight control section?

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

REACH: ODST.

Assassinations, Sprint/Jet Pack/Evade, Drop in New Alexandria (During the time Noble Team is in New Alexandria), customizable ODST (attachments, knife, emblem, color), same technology in Halo 3: ODST, same gravity and stuff in ODST, etc.

  • 03.22.2011 12:07 PM PDT

Have your armor do something Ex:Give you faster reloading.
P.S:I love ODST's

  • 03.22.2011 12:52 PM PDT

inspired from Reach - Jetpack sections

You follow Buck while he is on Reach.

It would have a nice tie in to Reach as well (like how ODST had a tie in with Halo 2 at the beginning).

  • 03.22.2011 1:41 PM PDT

Think before you post

How bout it takes place after the halo events and its about a new 2nd generation odst squad consisting of Buck and Dare's kid whos the squad leader, Dutch and Gretchen's kids (fratenal twins), Romeo's cousin, and the Rookie's little brother who you play as, storyline could be about going after the remaining covenant forces, lost without their prophets, but still deadly and not too shabby in number, still doing guerilla attacks on the outer colonies. You and your squad could drop onto one of the remaining covenant ships and fight your way through the corridors to get to the bridge where you track the ship back to its orgins which leads to an unknown planet where you and the team drop in, but shortly lose connection with the rest of the human forces and while doing recon find out there's a massive covenant force there working on a high tech doomsday device to blow up earth, while sneaking around the base your team finds a holding cell with the arbiter in it, he came to the planet because of rumors of a regrouping of the covenant, you free him and he joins your squad and together, you ignite the doomsday device to explode the covenant planet, and make an escape
