I like your ideas, but I think New Mombasa is the best place to have. We've hardly explored the city, so it wouldn't feel like to much of a retred.

dual wielding. seeing as the smg and magnum are both DW weapons, it would fit well.

Combat knife as an equip-able weapon (and a DW!) (button press? seeing as it would always be available)
other melee attacks become negligible and only stun/disorient enemies, except in the case of assassination. There should be clang like in the energy sword, causing knife bouts to have depth to them.

btw DW=dual wield

Playable brutes and elites, along with spartans.
ODST & brutes multiplayer, and spartans & elites multiplayer
shieldless and shielded combat respectively, to entice other FPS fans.

60 round ar (with bloom like in reach to make burst fire effective and visual), 36 round battle rifle (duh)
no dmr, as the carbine fits that role.
mauler bruteshot and other brute weapons return, along with choppers and prowlers. maybe even a new brute vehicle/weapon?

forge included on a separate disk, allowing for the creation of firefight and multiplayer maps.

Mreh.

-Similar atmospheric mood to ODST.
-More environmental effects in campaign(rain, snow, fog, ect.).
-In the original ODST, it mentioned violent looters with weapons, I think we should have them as an enemy.
-I think there should be some sort of local resistance against the covenant that you can help during the story, like those civilians in Nightfall Halo: Reach.
-Perhaps a few side missions (like you find a wounded soldier and he asks you to find medical supplies for him, or make a distraction while either some troops or local resistance rescue some people trapped in a hospital, ect.)
-Emblem placement like in Halo 3 (They go on your shoulder and back).
an option for a camoflage armour scheme.

Dont like the sprint forever thing. Like the way the visr is now. Biofoam? NO! And i want BIG maps where you can have drop pods (dont need to be big but ability to go very high up)

For me I feel that one of ODST's strong points was its vehicular/navigational appeal. Before ODST came out I remember seeing concept art of lots of the city which never made it into the final cut (even including a long curved bridge in a similar style to the one featured in Halo 2's "Metropolis", which appeared in one of the last levels but was not fully utilized as a battlefield) and so an ODST 2 could fully incorporate ideas like these. Massive bridges, courtyards, motorways etc. would be immensely fun to fight and drive around in vehicles bigger than just Mongooses as the city would be much wider and the streets much bigger, for example Warthogs.

ODST 2 would have the oppurtunity to be on a Reach-sized level with the gloomy metropolitan feel of ODST and expansive vehicular gameplay.

I agree with Skorge, armours which affect combat would wreck gameplay! It might take weeks for people to unlock an armour which somebody else has already got, keeping them at a serious disadvantage as they don't have the benefits of the other person. lol.

I agree with Skorge, armours which affect combat would wreck gameplay! It might take weeks for people to unlock an armour which somebody else has already got, keeping them at a serious disadvantage as they don't have the benefits of the other person. lol.


I'd say there would have to be pros and cons to each armour piece, so that it would enhance your playing style but make your weaknesses even bigger.

Also,wielding a knife would make melee attacks redundant, and dual wielding doesn't add anything to gameplay.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, i only read the first page.

Honestly, I would like a dual perspective. Having the player switch between species (I.E Human/odst to elite) But have them in different timelines so you have to keep playing for it to add up. Also, the elite would be in the futre, fighting with the humans. Though it would be nice to start it off on high charity or another ring combating flood and sentinals then moving on to the elite vs covanant. Feel free to edit this or make suggestions for it. Also have jetpack for them as it was used in halo reach. And an active camoflage for one level. ( Here
Read the unsc part, it was tested by odst's.

I agree with these ideas completely.
ODST was one of my favorite games.
I feel it should have more of a "Special Forces" feel, rather than "Supersoldier".
By this i mean things like throwing knives, customisable weapons ect.
Firefight should be left more or less as it was, but prehaps add a "Mission" systems (separte from campain)with more of a focus on completing objectives, such as hostage rescue or whatever.

Throwing knifes wouldn't really be effective, but they could perhaps add in alot of side objectives as well as a free roam mode. I agree that it should be more about special forces.

Armour Customization - Well, it would seem stupid to be able to change the ODST's helmet. But some Shoulders and Possibly some chest modifications, Helmet Modules like in Reach But In real Detail to replace the loss of Changing The Helmet Base, Like being able to place certain helmet modules where you want on the helmet. And lots of modules like extra armour plating and communication Headsets.
As i said aswell, shoulders should be fully interchangable just like in Reach, same for chest, knees and wrist ETC.

Story (team)
well, i reckon this makes a good team (they are a highly praised team of ODSTs with codenames, real names are classified

StarFire - leader - Liutenant
Born on Chi Ceti 4, very consistant, but a short temper due to a mental breakdown that occured during his first mission, a natural leader,not so good under pressure. loadout: silenced assault Rifle, Laser-designated-airstrike module

Jerome - Heavy weapons - warrant officer
Born On Harvest. Lived there all his life, one of the 36 recruits trained by seargant avery Johnson. has a personal vendetta against the covenant, surprisingly sensitive. Loadout - Rocket Launcher, grenade launcher or spartan lazer


Aurora - Stealth and recon - private
The only girl on the team, has a speech impedemant. But Can hear, very experienced but unwilling to be promoted. Loadout: silenced pistol and 10" combat knife, silenced SMG

Foxtrot - Sniper - Staff seargent
Born On Mars [Rest of file classified] African-American Origins
loadout: Sniper, Silenced DMR

Sparrow - Latest Recruit, engineer - Corporal
Earth-Born, Will not kill any living thing but will defend himself. Has a fond Knowledge of alien Weaponry and behaviour
loadout: Plasma Pistol, tactical tool kit

Zulu - The Player - Master Seargent
Very Chatty, Bad service record, ie. demotion due to assault of a UNSC Ship captain, Criminal record prior to the covenant war. Real Name is Jacob. Loadout: Battle rifle, SMG

Stinger - Pilot + Medic - 2nd Liutenant
Incredibly smart, and tactical. prefers Bigger, bulkier armour for more protection over mobility, slightly insecure.
Won't go into battle unless his ammo holsters are full.
Loadout: Plenty of Grenades, Assault Rifle, Shotgun, tactical trauma kit
