What are we supposed to be discussing here Shepard?

I don't know if this has been already posted but what about having the setting in 26th Century New York City? Or even better another place on Reach.

Don't bash me for this, but they could include prone and have a stronger empahsis on stealth, making the game a bit more slow paced in the campaign and more sneaky ( night time levels at least.)

They could possibly make a matchmakin/campaign hybrid which could include it as well.

We have been raised for combat...
We carry our banner to our fights...
Alone we are a menace, together we are a threat...
Born to raise hell, live to drop back in it...
Never retreat, never surrender... we are spartans.

How about we play as an ODST squad sent to Reach before Noble six returns to New Alexandrea.

Story:

The UNSC fleet has arrived to Reach and have comenced ODST deployment (Much like Halo ODSTs intro cutscene).
You hit the ground and right beside you there will be a squadmate, maybe a female ODST since we've seen only dudes (and no Dare was not an ODST, she was O.N.I.), and both of you land near a makeshift bunker were some troopers are holding the line.

After aiding the troopers stand their ground you and your squadmate rally with the rest of the squad and attempt to Reach the field command.

During their missions on the ground you see how did the UNSC Holdout the siege for five days (pay attention to the Falcon Pilot on Exodus after entering it, they were under siege for five days) and failled.
Also, the squadmate you start off with stays with you through out the missions 'till the end.

Customization:
- Much like Halo Reach's except you can add more stuff
- You can customise your squadmate's armor
- (not sure if anyone mentioned this) Recovering wounded A.I. units (basically if your squadmate takes too much damage she'll be incapacitated and would have to wait untill you revived her and vice-versa)
- Issueing commands to any A.I. you cross with and joins you in the fight.(surpressing fire, taking cover, etc...)

In the end of the game you could be in a Pelican extracting you and taking you to some where unknown... all you know is that complete evacuation has been declared.

i reckon the campaign should start with something like defending a base, sort of like crows nest in halo 3, then, after the fight, you find out about Master Cheif still being alive and being sent in to bring him back in.
Also, with the customisation feature, i would like to see the police helmets from the original ODSt, that would be pretty cool.

I like the pelican idea too, the unsc could be completely nuking the planet or something. Maybe even the covenant have sent a giant nuke....

OMG a useful thread in this forum, YAY!

OT: NO-ARMOR-ABILITIES. Just make the VISR more useful... I dunno how to exactly, but it should be more than just an enhanced Night Vision mode

heat vision, and sound vision (were you see the sound coming out in waves so you know were enemies are)

  • 04.04.2011 4:52 PM PDT

Dude you got everything down to the letter for me!

You should also be able to play as grunts as well and be able to customize You covenent side character like you would for your ODST.

  • 04.04.2011 8:25 PM PDT

How about playing as Buck while he fought in Harvest? Eh ehhhh?

  • 04.04.2011 9:33 PM PDT

Once a Mythic, always a Mythic. '04 or Bust.
Extr3me Escalator Diving

Elites of War
Indeed

I'd honestly like it completely segregated from the actual "Halo" storyline.

Could easily play out as an evacuation type of campaign with some defense missions here and there on some nameless colony, or such. If there is some kind of "third race" like the flood, then more scenes where they're fighting the covenant, but you can't interact. Hell, include the flood, but make them deadlier, and give the game a mood to match that.

Like in Halo 2, when you're the arbiter at the heretic base. There's a glass floor and the heretics are getting mauled by flood. More mystery, less face time.

I'd actually think Tokyo would be a better place, because it seems so crammed with skyscrapers and this.
Seriously, tell me you wouldn't enjoy watching that building toppling down into the pacific, with a bunch of drop pods hurtling down, through the atmosphere in the background.

Also the fact that it's made up of islands, could lead to some aquatic environments(like that underwater foreunner elevator from Halo 2).

Hey, if you suck thats your own damn fault!

Your idea is awesome but i had another idea... 2 infact my first one is that we can follow the story line of the Elite ODST's you know the ones that drop on the beach on the Long night of solace mission on halo reach. But the events are after the end of Halo 3 where the elites are hunting down the rest of the covenant who still belive in the prophets or some thing like that. So you will have a rason to have that extra health from ODST and seeing this is after the events of Halo 3 we can give the covenant and Elites some new veicles aswell as weapons and bring back the beam rifle! And about halfway through the story the Elites run into some HUMAN ODST's and then we switch between chaerecters (soz for bad spelling) AKA between the Elite ODST we started with and the Human ODST.

NEW FEATURES

>As on the orignal post you can assassinate enimies.
> When playing as an Human ODST you can no longer meele a Brute as in the other Halo games Marines and ODST's could not.
>You are now less often to find meds around the place because you would not find that many in real life.
>Dual Wield avalible for Elites only.
>Customisable Armor For Human and Elite ODST's.

NEW GAMEMODES

>Firefight's back.
>Multiplayer with: Elites versus Brutes' an evenly based gamemode. ODST versus Skirmishers. ODST's have the more deadly weapons and only they can use them, Skirmishers have increased mobility, jump hight and health. And Alliance, A game mode where Elites and human ODST's have to battle Brutes and Skirmishers where they must control certains ares for weapons and veihcles.
>New Cooperation mode: 2 Elites and 2 Human ODST's have to work together to destroy or gain control of a certain area such as an example, an armoury, and to do so must fight hoardes of Skirmishers, Jackels, Brutes and Grunts that will not stop spawning until they destroy the objective or capture the objective after they have done that the must fight one last hoarde containing a pair of hunters. Please note that the players each have ten lives and will spawn a small running distance form thier object in a safe zone so the players can stratagize.

If you like my idea send me an emial at tristan_dragonboy@live.com.au or send a message to Xbox live account laffedmyasssofff

If you had the patience to read this i thank and hope you have a good day.

"Fear the wrath of the dead! Or as I like to call it the living impared."

I like it. The thought of bringing the Human element back to Halo, vice always running around as a super soldier. Win.

***Edit*** Instead of a sprint, how about an evade and cover ability? You see them in the games evading more than anything.

What if there was a part where you actually controlled the drop pod but it could be a speacial one with weapons so that when you land you can clear the area while safely in your pod before going out to look around the city

  • 04.10.2011 9:11 PM PDT

Mreh.

Because if it was in the external plating it would most likely be destroyed on impact.

And it's not always a clean landing, you're just as likely to land in the basement of an office building with a bunch of wreckage/debris around you.

And if those weapons where computer controlled, then they might as well be sending down autobots, camouflaged as drop pods.

Play as Buck and see the fall of Reach through is eyes. Have Dutch, Romeo, and Dare as squad mates ( I THINK they were on Reach). Choose between Spartans/Elites/ODSTs for multiplayer and with the same hitboxes, speed, and shields.

  • 04.12.2011 10:04 PM PDT

Takes place in two parts: play as Rookie during fall of reach during flash-backs and as a new ODST durring the operation that took place in cuba. for cuba, you'd play as an ODST who fought with Bucks squad on reach and remembers the battles he went through to get off reach with buck and Rookie and the others(innitiates a flash-back). in cuba, you also support the SPARTANs in charge of the operation. I love the new VISR ideas. ODST 2 shuld happen. lets petition Bungie or 343 when they get their hands on the franchise.

  • 04.13.2011 4:48 PM PDT

@chotato: i would love to read that. find out what charicters arn't alowed and delete them.

  • 04.13.2011 4:51 PM PDT

best idea I ever heard.

how about in the campaign to make it more realistic like modern warfare 2 and black ops and all of that how about when you get shot up your on the ground crawling around for a teammate to help you with that foam stuff or needles like in bad company. Also when you go to a new place you should start off dropping feet first into hell

I say it should be a special op odst squad that has 6 odsts in it and they fight on harvest with Sgt.Johnson (like in the Book) helping all the civilians get off the planet while trying to complete there main mission of finding out what the covenat are capable of and your odst is completly custom from visor color to the type of armor on your feet. I think all the gameplay ideas are good like the biofoam. Bungie or 343 should so make another ODST/Battle of Harvest
