So I was going through avatar clothing yesterday and noticed Kat was number 320, how can this be if there were only 300 according to Halsey's journal in which came with Halo Reach Legendary edition.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Kat ispart of Spartan-III Beta Company, the S-IIIs are not mentioned in the Journal because Halsey doesn't know about them yet.

However, her service number being B-320 is a bit of a -blam!--up because there were only 300 S-IIIs in Beta Company.

Out of curiosity which book mentions Spartan IIIs? Even though I'm pretty sure it's FoR it could also be GoO for I haven't gotten around to reading those two yet.

Ghosts of onyx, fall of reach does not cover them.

The halo encyclapedia is also good for looking things like this up.

You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

I think it's because they were numbered as part of the original candidate pool, which is why there were only 75 final candidates for the SPARTAN-II project but John is number 117.

Racism isn't wrong if it's funny.

It can be pretty hard to keep track of all of the canon. Just look at what happened to Star Wars. Some of it gets lost, but that's what this thread is for.

We will know soon enough, but it will require thought. Deep thought. Mendicant Bias must be found. The Mantle will soon follow.

Correct Slade is being correct.

Indeed, twas the candidate number of the III's. Imagine yourself in line at a deli, taking a number with roughly 345 other people in line there. Your number is 320.

But wait... you hear a noise coming from outside the deli! Now imagine seeing a pack of ravenous body-augmenting wolves dash in and out through the line, while some of the total line of immobilized customers are systematically killed and dragged back to the wolves' den, for the grotesque (yet, modestly fine chef) Chickenpede to devour whole as a brief, yet filling, afternoon brunch; while some are very badly injured, and unable to remain in line. The few that are untouched by the slaughter number around 75. Though many of you are being kept warm inside the Chickenpede's oozing five-stomach inner digestive system, or struck down by the wolves of augmentation to a point at which living is blatantly resented, there are quite a few of your flock who remain unscathed after the conclusion of this meat-themed chaos. You, Customer 320, are alive with the other able-bodied customers of various other numerical callings to receive your fill.

You have survived to become a SPARTAN.

Sort of.

Do the Beta Company numbers not carry on from Alpha Company though?
