Subject: Before we knew what The Forerunner looked like....

I am the 21st century Jim Jones

What did you imagine The Forerunner looking like before we got accurate depictions in Legends and other canon material?

I for one imagined them as Greys because seeing as the Forerunner were very interested in studying other extraterrestrial species, the Greys looked like an accurate depiction of such a thing because it seems like any crackpot story of abductions have the abductee describing the Grey as the beings who abducted them, which made me believe this weird idea that there may have been surviving forerunner surveying worlds after their subsequent demise and abducting people for research, imagining that Bungie would tie that reality aspect into Canon form.

What about you?

Drip drop, slice and chop, chase the rabbit, Hop! Hop! Hop! Run away, I don’t care, I will find you anywhere :)

I actually just pictured them as humans, but bulkier.

Sangheili Major: "Brute ships. Staggered line! Shipmaster, they outnumber us, three-to-one!"

Rtas 'Vadum: "Then it is an even fight. All Cruisers, fire at will! Burn their mongrel hides!"

I just imagined them as humans, though with a few differences in structure.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

I always imagined them to look like humans, but bigger, taller, smarter and stronger. Almost like a Spartan.

Oh and they all wear elaborate clothing.

Walk softly, and carry a big midget.

I imagined them looking like Humans with maybe grey or blue skin.

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

2 legs, I suppose. But that's about all I imagined.

Weapon of Oppression

Somewhat humanoid, but with a small amount of fur, as evident from halo Cryptum.

  • 03.02.2011 2:11 PM PDT

I always thought of the chozo for some reason.

  • 03.02.2011 2:12 PM PDT

I don't care. I really don't.

I imagined them being very large (probably between 10 - 15 feet), with grey, shiny metallic plates covering their bodies, and a large central horn out of the forehead, resembling many of their structures (angular and portruding upward in a sharp 45 degree angle then turning further upward again at 90 degrees). I imagined four or five small, glowing orange eyes placed symetrically around the frontal area of the head, a hand structure relatively like a humans, however thicker bulkier fingers; the rest went along with this style.

I don't know why, I just thought that human structures reflect what we look like, and with the towering ceilings, grey metallics and angular protusions hinted at the Forerunners; guess I was wrong though. Meh. :/

I didn't ever really picture them, though what I did imagine was humanoid but distinctly alien, like seeing one you would think, and I knew they'd have either a six fingered or five fingered hand, but I really didn't have much of a mental picture for them.

you are a good translator
Idiot can be a hard language to learn, but once you get it down, everything becomes so clear! The whole world will make sense to you.

Sort of High-Elven.

"Living to smile, and not to succeed; smiling to inspire happiness, not to give the illusion you are happy; creativity and music to inspire smiling, which in turn inspires happiness; being nice to be happy, not for being perceived a good person."

Like Human. Except really tall and fairly skinny.

  • 03.02.2011 3:05 PM PDT

I always imagined them as looking like the Kaminoans from Star Wars but a little bit bulkier.

  • 03.02.2011 3:09 PM PDT

I thought they were just highly evolved humans with superior technology that altered their bodily form

  • 03.02.2011 3:14 PM PDT

Spartans never die... they just revert to last checkpoint.

Tall, very slender humans with very elaborate expensive-looking clothing.

Maybe like more human versions of those long-neck things on star wars

Yea, me too.

For me they were kind of a blur, but definitely human shaped and had the looks of an alien. I was not expecting them to have fur...

US Coast Guard prepares for massive rescue mission after Iranian fleet sinks off shore. Reports say a small thunderstorm caused most of the ships to simply...fall apart.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

I always just thought of them as humans because I used to think we were them.
