Nobody visits these forums much nowadays. Lets see how many people reply to this.

Only Halo Veterans can answer this because they know best, and have plenty of expertise.

Which Campaign Level was best? Which game did you like best overall? Funness and character developement wise
Please reply

*I just noticed how many votes Tip of the Spear had. I put this up there not to be biased, but because it was the climax of a lackluster campaign. If you felt that any one of Reach's levels were the best, please vote for ToTS

Remember back then when the campaign had a purpose?

Oh and guys. Please comment.

My opinion-

I always enjoy the missions where you and some other marines do the mission together. As proven by many humans and their actions, a group of friendlies around you help enhance the mood. Multiplayer, Co-op, we all love allies.

I liked The Ark because of the large vehicular battles and the feeling of an army, not just 2 people [cough Halo Reach cough]

Thus, also based off this poll, the missions where you are given the feeling of epicness and suspense also help.

The Maw? Many people love this for the tense warthog race, and the struggle for survival. I personally like the way there were raging battles everywhere.

Grandess, epic battles, and suspense, according to this poll (and me) impact a campaign a lot.

Assault on the control room? Yeah. You were given the task of taking down many enemies, silently or full out, and then you were able to rendezvous with marines. Idk about you, but I horded the marines, and tried to keep all of them safe until the end of the level 10 years ago on release.

Nostalgia plays a large factor into deciding which level/game was better. If you ask someone, was Nightfall or Truth and Reconciliation better? Well, I myself would choose TaR, and so would many others, because

1) Nostalgia
2) It was just simply stealthier, and your AI waited for you to shoot, not no scope grunts w/ turrets 1000 meters away.

One thing I always say when trolling about Halo Reach's campaign, is how there was never a level where you could have massive battles.

I want the feeling of a battle, like in WWII, the way the books describe them, and like the way Halo Wars pictures them. I want to be in the midst of it, struggling to survive, for the sake of Iron. In Halo 3, when I jumped out of an exploding Scarab, I felt the adrenaline (well.. the kind u get while playing video games). While being lost and scared in the Library, I ... kind of.. well... felt lost and scared

One last factor of a campaign level. New places.

Did you like revisiting Sword Base over and over again?
Did you like revisiting that Two Betrayals level twice? (Note- This level wasn't that bad because you got to explore new places)
Did you like... well, that't it.

New places in campaign make you want to explore. If all the campaign was just multiplayer maps.. hmm... then it wouldn't be any fun.

R.I.P. Halo 2
11/9/04 - 4/15/10

The Maw and AotCR are the best missions out of all the Halo games. They did a good job making you go "Oh sh**" on The Maw.

  • 03.03.2011 5:01 PM PDT

The Covenant was alright, but just having a huge vehicle section doesn't make that vehicle section fun to play over and over.

The Maw and AotCR take that position.

The Maw and AotCR were great, but I also love The Silent Cartographer and Halo.

The Moa is strong with this one.

Deffinatly my favorite would have to be "the package". My favorite game would be CE no doubt, mostly cuz of the multiplayer mods :D

Silent Cartographer is probably my favorite of the campaign missions. The opening sequence was downright amazing. I enjoyed AotCR and the Maw as well though.

The Silent Cartographer

''We ride together, we die together, bro's and bad boys for life''

Out of the ones in your list I loved The Maw/AoCR. I mean seriously, nothing beats playing that level with a friend, especially the last part where you escape with a warthog. You all gotta admit that the warthog escape in Halo CE was way better than Halo 3's.

If I could choose myself I'd choose The Silent Cartographer. I suppose the main reason why I like it so much is because it was the first level of Halo I ever played. It was the level that you could play via Halo Trial, which I got when I was 8 or 9, and by then I didn't know what Halo was. So I got the Trial, played the level over and over and over again at least 30 times until I finally bought the full game myself. So I practically know every shortcut/hidden area on that level. Oh, and it also had one of the most rocking soundtracks in the game.

Due to some e-mail dumbness, my GT is not the one listed on my profile. My GT is the same as my board name.

Two Betrayals says hi.

I'd actually say it's about tied with AotCR, but I voted none of the above up there.

AotCR and The Covenant. Can't decide.

AotCR had the best combat, was the perfect level for coming up with strategies, and it has the biggest megabattle. It's the only Halo 1 level, aside from PoA and The Silent Cartographer, that I'm good at on Legendary, since I've played it so much.

Silent Cartographer is second in combat and strategy.

The Covenant had the best glitches (half infected characters, multiple Arbiters, leaping Carriers, Hornet army, active bipeds in cutscenes) and the combat was enjoyable, but was downplayed because of the Brutes.

The Storm, as much as I hate it, comes in second, since it has a megabattle and flying AAs as well as rocket launcher marines on Mongooses.

As for The Maw, I loved the Thirsty Grunt. I can't seem to find him on my own again though. I also enjoyed the fight with the Zuka Zamamee Elite.

The Maw and AotCR was my favorite by far for numerous reasons, and IMO Halo CE is one of the best.

  • 03.04.2011 10:06 PM PDT

I am Godlike!

The Maw was my personal favorite.
However, i love the Library, purely for the challenge :3

The Maw will always be my favorite. Can't beat driving a warthog through a collapsing Pillar of Autumn.

Truth and Reconciliation, Metropolis/Outskirts, The Covenant/Ark,

these are my favorite levels of all time :D

  • 03.16.2011 3:54 PM PDT

I loved all the Halo games... To be honest, I would play any one of them over. But I always loved Assault on the Control Room for some reason... Maybe it was being in the snow? Or getting the Scorpion... Just something about Halo in general makes it all amazing.

Level 2, "Halo" being able to use the Warthog for the very first time.

  • 03.18.2011 12:44 AM PDT

The timed warthog run is still iconic. Still etched into my memories. The redo's in Halo 2 and 3 for the MAW aren't the same.

  • 03.18.2011 12:25 PM PDT

I loved every level except The Library.

  • 03.20.2011 11:55 AM PDT

I liked The Covenant the most primarily because it had my favorite cutscene of all time in it.

However Halo:CE was my favorite game, (well, my favorite campaign at least.)
