There had better not be any subscription fees or microtransactions. They are already going to have to really impress me to get me to buy this.

There has to be some way for them to maintain a cash flow. They can't just pull money out of the air to maintain MMO servers.

I hope that Bungie doesn't "disconfirm" this one to though....

Waiting for the live feed to update :)

avid forger, love vehicle gameplay

Note: NOT an MMO, they called it a massively multiplaye ACTION game. I'm expecting it to be a little like a little like falout3/new vegas, but in space, and (probably) has a large vehicular influence. I saw that Bungie has filed copyrights for 4 different URLs (possible names). they are Osiris, New Monarchy, Seven Seraphs, and Dead Orbit. I am particuarly concerned about these titles, as they give a MUCH darker impression of a game than the previous working title, Bungie Aerospace. The last one i especially dislike. It feels like a rip off of Dead Space and Dark Orbit. I liked Bungie Aerospace and i hope they stick with that.

Home is where you heart is
but what is shame?
'Cause everyones heart
doesn't beat the same.

Finally, I always wanted a balanced MMO. Hopefully a shooter!

They want to have people pay to play CoD so we shall see...
That stupid rumor got shot down months ago.

  • 03.03.2011 8:33 PM PDT

When the going gets tough, whine and groan and complain, then post a thread on the flood about how tough the going is and flame anyone who disagrees.

I read this article earlier, and I am very excited. After Blizzards offer to help Bungie with an MMO, the possibilities are literaly endless with the two studios talent pools combined.

Confirmed NOT to be WoW in space, so we are safe from the lands of Azeroth.

At a panel session at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco today, Bungie lead network engineer David Aldridge confirmed to attendees that the developer's next title is a "massively multiplayer action game."....

Discuss.

An MMO? I am a little bit on the fence about this, I have to think on it a bit.

Like many others in this thread I also agree that I really don't want any subscription.

EA maintains servers for all of their multiplayer games without any fees.

Wait..... So a few weeks ago when I posted a thread talking about that MMORPG rumor and everyone got pissed about it, I was kinda right. Noice.

Per Audacia Ad Astra!

"No somebody tell me this ain't happening!" even if there was a doubt, i was expected they tell us the new game would be an action-rpg style but not an MMO, why Bungie? can you imagine you'll have to pay a subscription plus playing for improve everything (weapons, levels etc...) seriously i'm waiting to see the images, but i'm afraid with MMO you need to Get a life.

Not every MMO is an RPG

I'm hoping it will be like Planetside.

My troll sense is tingling.

If I have to pay for a subscription (which is probably what will happen considering Activision is publishing), then I'm not going to bother unless it is VERY good.

  • 03.04.2011 3:52 AM PDT

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

Agreed, but the last time I saw a very good MMO was.....

It's Hazard Time

Ifg they make the game like they made their previous ones we can expect:
Instances with 16 players, no more/instance at any time.
p2p networking simply because it stinks
Small, narrow worlds, no NPCs and no houses/citis that can be visited.
And, all houses are white, blank and made of paper :P

Oh, I'm just so excited. Why, I find this tingly sensation all over me. Wait, nvm.

MMO = too time consuming. I will probably pass. Unless, it's WOW in space. Now that's a classic idea.

It can still be an MMO and a massively multiplayer action game, in fact, how could it have massive multiplayer without being online?
