With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Was just reading the Wiki article about the Tasmanian Tiger. If you read the "Description" section, how the animal's vocalizations are described seem to fit the way Nylund and Staten describe the way Grunts speak in the Halo novels.

Oh, and "Yip-yap" certainly fits... Thought it was interesting.

Damn, those things had creepy mouths.

Woah, they did too. It seems to hinge much further back in its head than most dog-type animals. It makes it look like it's got a crocodile jaw.

Anyway, I think it would be complete coincidence that they were described like Tazzy Tigers. Other than vocalisations, they bear absolutely no resemblance.
...Except that they both have creepy mouths.
