Great developers make great games, great games deserve great players, that would be my roll.

I've played all the halo games except for halo 2, so i decided to get it for my laptop, im so used to the halo 3 controls i cant quite manage the keyboard and mouse manoeuvring, ive seen that you can connect an xbox360 controller to the computer, if i managed to connect my xbox360 controller would the game pick up on the controller and allow me to move around with it or would the game just ignore the controller and carry on using the keyboard and mouse??

If you have a wireless controller, you may need to buy something like this

You'd need to get the necessary drivers for it.

If you have a wired controller, you can just plug it straight into the USB port.

Let me get this straight. You can get Halo 2 for computer and plug a wired Xbox 360 controller into your usb port and your computer gets it? Do you have to have a certain computer for this to work? This all sounds too good to be true.

I see what you mean Massive but when I googled "xbox controller for pc" it is the first site that appears...don't know why the link above does not go to the correct page?? Strange

Edit: the link above brings you to the MS Search page which has the correct link embedded ...very odd!

Halo 2 has built-in support for the Xbox 360 controller, so if you plug it in, you'll have the exact same experience you would on a console.

NO. You would not get the same console experince, but H2V is still really fun and it's as close as you can get (other then XBC/XlinkKai).

It's the 21st century.

It's expected.

The Windows Vista and Windows 7 Operating systems are built with automatic driver downloads for any new hardware that is plugged into the PC.

Windows XP does not have this feature, and so you must download the drivers from the internet.

Never played H2, huh? To truly appreciate all of H3/Reach, take note of the massive auto-aim, emphasis on Dual wielding and various graphical errors. Oh, and the great campaign...that too!

I mean control-wise.

the normal wireless antenna that connects to the console won't work on a pc as there are no drivers available... you can't plug in the wireless adapter in to the pc you have to buy a new MS compatabile adapter which can pair with the controller whic in turn needs an attachable antenna inserted ,,,that's what my understanding of it.

Does Halo CE and Call of Duty Black Ops also have this?

So if I get a computer with Windows 7 I can just plug in the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows to my usb port, connect my controller, and start playing?

Hell yea I have a NES, SNES, N64, and Playstation emulators on my comp. My xbox controller lets me play these games ALMOST like they were in the golden days. And now you can hook up comps to flatscreens (46" here). This is truly the future haha.
