Just wondering, did the Spartans ever learn parkour? If they didnt't, wouldn't that be better for serving their initial purpose? If they were made to fight the Insurrection, they could be more mobile in urban environments if forced to infiltrate a building, chase down a target, or escape enemy opposition.

As far as I knew, you don't 'learn' parkour, it's something that comes with practice.

Though, to answer your question I'm not sure how useful it would be with MJONLIR. The weight could cause some troubles moving quickly over certain things.

parkour originated in WW2 during the occupation of france, saboteurs and French soldiers developed it as a means of crossing parts of the city undetected and faster than vehicles.

i would imagine not, imagine trying to grab a ledge weighing 1000 lbs, you would crumple the wall, however spartans are agile and linda (blue teams sniper) in the books was shown hanging from a rope upside down sniping the pilots of banshees from the cockpits.

Probably not a typical rope, or was knotted in a weight-bearing way.

I see Spartans being agile enough to do parkour/free-running, but probably don't as it would be quicker to smash through the wall then scaling it and crumbling it anyway lol.

(Man, imagine a Spartan in full MJOLNIR moving like in Mirror's Edge <_<)

the great thing is, they would be fully capable,
also we have rope now capable of holding more than 3 or 4 times a Spartans weight.

I think they developed the free running skill, but only some make excessive use of it. I also believe that it's possible despite the heavy suit. Spartans can be similar to the soldiers in the Crysis VG.

"Ignorance is a plague."

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

They are pretty heavy, so they would probably break whatever they're climbing.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Who needs parkour if you can just press A and jump over said obstacle without using your hands?

What if their moving really fast. Doesn't that kinda cancel out their weight or something?
